Upcoming RubberB straps for 5167

I wonder what is in the works from RubberB? I am hopeful that they add some color choices. I also wonder how they’ll do the closure, maybe a choice between Velcro and using the OEM clasp like they do with other straps. Good to have choices.

Hopefully, it's a full tang buckle with colour choices!

Their quality is top notch and especially the current strap for the Rolex sport model. I believe their strap for aquanaut will be good as well. Can’t wait!

I will buy depending on the color and if they can duplicate the Calatrava clasp.

as a bit of background - Rubber B are believed to be the supplier of the OEM tropical straps for the aquanaut and as part of this agreement they are precluded from selling these straps directly.

i would assume that the design will be sufficiently different to the OEM design as a result

sweet. Can't wait to see what they offer, would love to get a little variety for my 5167.

I kinda hope there's both tang buckle, and OEM clasp options.

Limited interest as the rubber strap is as vital to the design of the aquanaut as the president to a DD or RO bracelet to an RO. IMHO of course.

Not strictly – straps are consumables, a bracelet isn’t.
With leather straps being custom made for these brands, then there’s no reason a good quality 3rd party rubber can’t be utilised in place of the OEM ones.

I stand by my statement. Never once seen a good looking aftermarket strap on the 5167. I think the stock bracelet is shit too. The pattern on the strap melting into the dial is central to the design for me.

Huge missed opportunity for Patek IMO. They could come out with a nicely tiled alligator/composite strap that integrates with the case just like the rubber straps do. I'd pay anywhere between $600-$1,000 to change up the look that dramatically while having it be OEM and a perfect fit. While I would never consider a Hublot, I actually really like their alligator leather with rubber bottom side.
I think Patek is leaving money on the table by not creating virtuous cycles around, e.g., the Aquanaut having readily available exchangeable straps in all manner of colors.

I have been very happy with the RubberB made for the 5726.  And they clearly tried to match part of the strap with the dial so interested to see what they do for the 5167.

A quick update on availability. When I asked about it on Instagram, I was given the following answer:
“The Aquanaut strap was originally scheduled to launch in May. We were informed by the Swiss factory that there is a major backlog in the new productions due to COVID-19, which caused much more delays then were expected. Unfortunately the RB for Patek Aquanaut Strap is not going to be here before September (Along with many other lunches we were expecting that will no longer be on time). We are extremely disappointed and also as impatient as you. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause as we are all at the mercy of the Swiss production schedule”

The blacks strap on the 5726 looks cool. Has anyone got one snapped on a 5980R? Curious to see the black looks against the rose / also the fit with the clasp/deployment buckle. Cheers.

At some point, the 5167 khaki strap is going to cost more than a brand new Rolex. Hope rubber b can help with the pent up demand for straps.
