Advice on GMT hand

I am a Rolex newbie.

I have seen a few images of GMT Master 1675 Pepsi and the GMT hand triangle is not the same from watch to watch. When I look at 2 watches, the triangle of one watch is smaller than the other triangle of the other watch. The color of the smaller triangle is identical to the color of the hour markers, but the color of the bigger triangle is not the same as the hour markers.

Please advice. Thank you.

There is a lot of information about the 1675 on the internet, for example at the following link. You can read about hands here:
https://gmtmaster1675.com/the-hands/

Your question about the color of the GMT hand is not clear. Are you talking about the color of the hand, or the lume? The color of aged lume can vary greatly.

It's a 24 hour hand, GMT is the name of the watch.

They came in different sizes, depending on the year, they also came painted only on the shaft, painted around the lume, or non-painted, depending again on the year made.

Crown guards are also different, depending on when made.

Aftermarket 24-hour hand on a GMT Master 1675?

Hi Dan and Tools,

Is it possible to identify an aftermarket 24-hour hand on a GMT Master 1675 Pepsi?

Thanks.

If you are asking about a specific watch, you should show photos.

Image of my watch

Dan,

Please take a look at the attached image and the 24-hour hand. Is it a aftermarket 24-hour hand? Thank you.

Perhaps we are conflicted with the term "aftermarket".

It appears likely that the 24 hr hand has been replaced as the amount of corrosion and lume are quite different. There is no reason to think that it is not an authentic hand, just not an original hand.

Thank you!

Tom1675 and Tools,

To me, aftermarket means fake. My father passed away recently and Mom gave it to me. I have done a bit of research on this watch, and the bracelet is aftermarket/fake because it does not have model number on the back of the bracelet. I have seen a few images of GMT Master 1675 and their 24-hour hand do not look like the 24-hour hand on my watch.

Thank you very much for your time.

Don’t jump to conclusions about the bracelet. Some Rolex bracelets don’t have model numbers, and can have unmarked end links.

The most I would say is that the 24-hour hand is probably not original to the watch, but I couldn't rule out the possibility that it is an authentic Rolex replacement.

You can try to measure the hand. 13mm from the stack I believe.
