Icon5 Which is your fav Nautilus in Jun 2021?

There have been quite a number of new Nautilus released over the past few years. Which one is your number 1 in terms of your preference thus far? Obviously you can own multiple Nautilus but this poll is for your fav Nautilus out of the options listed (if you can, please elaborate on your choice). Sorry I omitted the ladies, diamond, vintage and limited platinum ones as the poll can only have 10 options max. And I only created 1 option for 5711/1a (which can be blue, white or green), 5726/1A (blue, gray or white) and 5980/1A (blue, gray or white) without further differentiation.

For the purpose of this poll, let's not focus too much on the "value" or investment aspect.

Finally, this poll is created just for fun. Please don't take it too seriously.

I am completely torn between the 5711 and 5712.

I love the complication in the 12 but prefer the WR of the 11.

I do not like a thicker Nautilus, so all the chrono’s and travel times are out. The perpetual is out of the running due to WR again haha.

One of my favourite joys is swimming with my watches. Even just the seamaster I have.
So I have determined that is one of the aspects that really makes a watch a keeper for me.

I also feel it’s a bit of a middle finger to those who don’t collect watches and say “but you have the time on your phone”
Sure, but when I’m out sailing and swimming. It’s not the best idea to have a phone on you :D

If I could only own one Nautilus and I had my choice and I didn't have to pay for it with my own money, it would be the 5980/1A white dial. It was the first Nautilus I loved but because it cost almost twice as much as the 5711/1A, at MSRP back in 2014, I went with the 5711.

Such any easy choice, 5711/1a because it’s “simply” the best.

My favourite would be the 5726/1A. Either blue or the discontinued white or black would be fine. When I first started to know Patek it was all about complication. So having an AC and a Moonphase on dial makes it unique and it’s day date aperture mimics the PCC style. The weight also gives it a slightly luxurious feel compared to the 5711 which I felt was too light but not as heavy as the 5990. Lastly I hate changing date every alternate month so an AC works best.

5711/1A blue.

A Nautilus has to be thin for me and I like simple and minimal stuff, so 5712 lost in a close race years ago. The runner up today would be 5740/1G but I still prefer the affordable (at MSRP), no compromise sports watch that is 5711/1A.

I love the 5740 bec it’s a blend of a grand complication and my favorite PP. I don’t own one but I do have a 5712 and a 5726. The one missing for my absolute favorite is the original 3700. I used to have two..a gold and a steel and still miss them. First was best.

Which is your fav Nautilus in Jun 2021?

5712/1a.

Classic nautilus (size, thinness) is 5711 and 5712. I like complication watches so in this case 5712 wins easily.

And there’s only one 5712, not like the other ones which have multiple colors over the years.

It’s always been the silver/white dial 5711 for me. A close second would be the silver/white 5726.

I voted 5990/1a because I find the 11/12 too thin and I have a thing for GMT / Travel time complications.

Brother Michael, I would have to pick the 5740.....

Because.......

1. KING of all Nautilus
2. Amazing sunburst blue dial
3. Grand Complication that what Patek are known for
4. Precious Metal
5. Thin like 5711 & 5712
6. Interested display back movement
7. New clasp

Let me borrow your 5740 for a week and see if we agree with the list that I mention.....

Did I miss anything else on the list my friend......??

You are spot on my brother.

For the purpose of this vote, I was torn between the 5740 and 5711 because the 5740 has everything you listed while the 5711 is the watch with the coolest elegant dial and an iconic history to match. I will share my vote when I do a recap of the result later on. Cheers bro.

Easy answer, your 5740 of course. The king of the nautilus line. The weight of the slim white gold case, the warm tones of the white gold and remarkable movement are sublime. Perfection.

Forgot the 5980/1AR and 5726A (not that I think that those are anyone’s favourite).

Fair point but there is only a maximum of 10 poll options here. I could have replaced the 5712R with the 5980/1AR though.

I could argue that....

5740 has both iconic history on grand complication dial layout & grand complications caliber 240 Q, which is Patek DNA.....

As you mention coolest elegant dial and an iconic history to match, why not have it all..... The 5740 check every box on the list and you are very very lucky to own this timepiece my brother.....

Actually if I can only pick one, it would be the 5711 and hence I refuse to answer because I *must* get two
