All 8 days
Hi all... I've rejoined rolex forum, though I'm into many watch brands except Rolex. I own JLC, Panerai, IWC, Longines and Omega. I need to add an 8-day Pam to the collection (and a 5711/1A-010 PP), for function, so I thought of starting a thread dedicated to starting a conversation on this functional movement(s). Though I need help from the pros here with a list of all 8-day pams available, to get the conversation going on pros and cons, collectability and likeability by all paneristis.... cheers

If you are looking for an 8-day PAM, I recommend the 190.
It is the only PAM that I own. Good luck in your search. |

I second the 190. It is the only Rad I own and I love it. The 8 day JLC movement is terrific. Just wind it once a week and you are good to go. Perfect size at 45mm and the gold hands really make the face pop.

I have a 233 and just love it. I have the older "dot" indicator although the newer "am/pm" dials are also nice. Its a pretty simple sandwich dial with a hidden GMT hand. Love the domed crystal also. "Fang" style power reserve.
Sorry I don't have any pics but I am sure somebody will come along soon and post them. On a side note they make these in both manual any automatic versions. I enjoy the manual wind version. Its fun to wind it up on Sunday and then watch the power reserve crawl down all week. Helps you look forward to the weekend I guess.

I am waiting for mine to arrive today, a 275. The dial is a bit busier on this model however I think the 8 day manual is a superb movement. Sandwich dial with Power reserve, single button chronograph, GMT function. A little bit of everything. This will be my first 8 day and definitely not my last, although my next model I think will be a Submersible.

Thanks all for the responses... I have actually always liked the 190, but although I like to see in a glance that the watch is actually ticking by looking at the seconds hand I think it makes the watch face look like someone's face while they winked, and paused (with the 9 gone)! I've been contemplating the 233 and the 270.. I like the look, almost perfect with a domed crystals (my fav) but I think they're too busy for my taste (I own the 372). Guess I'll need to keep looking :) Thanks everyone!!

275 is a good option as well if you need a chronograph complication. I love mine!

My 233 was for a while the only manual wind in my collection and I would it less frequently! The 233 is my favorite 8 day movement watch.

No love for the PAM 346? Great watch, in house movement, deadly accurate and I love the magnifier on the date window. BTW I own both a 190 and a 346 both great watches. You can not go wrong with any 8 day pam. If you're getting a pre-owned 233 be careful with the K series, that series had an issue with the front power reserver getting stuck.
