In between links, Glidelock

So on my glidelock bracelet I could either have it almost all the tight or all the way loose depending on the amount of links. Is there a general rule to go by, what do yall do?


right now the clasp is off set on my wrist towards the 12 position (clasp is closer on my wrist to 12 than 6)

Try 4 links at 6.

I think you'll generally want more or less in the middle of the GlideLock, allowing adjustment in either direction unless of course you're a diver and may want more room to expand.

my issue is I cant get it in the middle

I have a total of 5 plus glidelock link at 12 and 5 at 6. If I take one of 6 the clasp almost sticks out a bit from my wrist. 7.5 wrist I believe

I try to wear my watches just slightly loose--to the point where it's still tight enough that I can't turn the case around my wrist... By doing this, I never have to adjust for seasonal temperature changes.

yeah I do wear mine a bit tight, I do video for a living so I don't like having things bouncing around, I guess I just gotta get used to the bracelet moving a bit, been wearing a nato casio for tide info for the past couple years

Steve, I had a similar problem with my DBlue. Ultimately I had my AD order a 1/2 link. Now the clasp is perfectly centered and the glidelock is set dead centre.

I have 6 links at 12 o'clock, 41/2 links at 6 o'clock.

And by the way, most people I've talked to about this agree that you should always have fewer links on the 6 side, for max comfort and optimal view.

I like my bracelet with a little play, but not too loose. I've managed to get it so my preferred size is just one position retracted from the center of the clasp. That gives me plenty of room to take in (which isn't often necessary, given that this is the cold time of year), and even more room to expand when the weather gets warmer.

FWIW, I have 4 links on the 6 o'clock side, and 5.5 links on the 12 o'clock side. 6.33 inch wrist.

I think your problem is the same number of links on both sides, for starters... Seems to me, you'll always have to turn your arm more to view the time. Not comfortable.

I added a link today to the 6 position because the clasp was sticking out literally on the underside of my wrist, maybe I'll try to take one of the 6 side real quick again and mess around with it, I do think a half link is what I need

I wear my SubC the same as Westland and have roughly the same size wrist as you. I have 4 1/2 on the 6 side and 5 on the 12 side.

I really had to think through the link arrangement on mine. Logic seemed to dictate I should have the same number of links on both sides, or close to it, so I was thinking seriously about moving the half link so I would have 4.5 on the 6 o'clock, and 5 on the 12 o'clock. But then I did some measuring and realized that would actually screw things up. For me, having 1.5 fewer links on the 6 o'clock side works well.

Try the half link then...I'm just saying, I don't know anyone personally who wears the same number of links on both sides, and these are guys of all shapes and sizes...

Try swapping the half link to the other side then adjusting. I had this same problem and this worked wonders for me

General rule of thumb is to have more links on the 12 o'clock side. I was in the same spot as you where I would add a link and then glidelock would be all the way in, then I would take a link out and glidelock would be almost all the way out. The solution is to take out the half link that is inside glidelock and then it will sit in the middle

Take a hair dryer and heat up the link. Rolex uses loctite when they put their screws in. Use the hair dryer to loosen up the screw and you'll be good to go. So try one more link on the 12 o'clock side than you have on the 6 and take out the half link completely, that way you should have glidelock in the middle (from what I've gathered from your post at least.)

I never paid much attention to the links on my Exp1. When I got it I took a link off of both sides, retracted the Easy Link, and bam - perfect.

So I have 6 links on the 12 side and 4 on the 6. Doesn't look funny at all and incredibly comfortable. I wear it above the bone and somewhat snug.

Would love to try a Glidelock.

I have a 7.5 inch as well and wear 5 and 5 on the 12 and 6. Fits perfectly with usually 2 or 3 notches left available to make it a tighter fit if needed and the rest available to make looser if needed and clasp perfectly centered. Perhaps your wrist is more round? Add some pics if possible and I'm sure some people can give you better advice. Here's mine and fits just great...

i am a big guy who is athletic and trim - having a slender wrist sort of gives me a complex lol.

6x4 on the amount of links, the glidelock clasp all the way at the smallest size and it's a perfect fit. Clasp dead centered in the middle.

If you're 10 links you can't go 5 x 5 or you get off center. If you're 12 links you have to go 7 x 5 or same thing.

If you arn't diving with it. the middle is most popular glidelock position. If you're a diver you want to set it on the tightest setting so that when you opening up the glidelock you can get it around your wetsuit.

Invest in a Horotec hollow tip 1.6mm screwdriver. I have had great success with Rolex screws using this screwdriver.

The glidelock range is longer than the length of a link. And there is a half link also. Anyone should be able to get the clasp in the middle.

I don't really see the point in that - surely you're never in a situation where you need to tighten it 3 clicks???
