Oh yeah, very different compared to a sub or similar brush finished watch. The polished parts make this watch more delicate as well as dressy.

I don't think they'll be discontinuing the smaller sizes because there are a lot of people who still prefer them. The YM is basically the only model in the sports professional line that has a ladies, midsize, men's and a big 42mm YM2.

I have a midsize, and love it; wear it everywhere and find that the finish on the bezel is very durable- i was worried about losing the brushed finish, but it still looks fine

Good thing your bezel's still ok. Mine has a scratch right behind the 50 mark. It's a hairline scratch but since I know it's there, it seems like the grand canyon. hahaha!

i checked out the rolex website today and while browsing through the yachtmasters, i noticed that the two tone version in the picture now has shorter end links just like the newer 116622. also the lume is now chromalite. are these new updates that they did to the two tones without changing the reference number?

Beautiful YM. That is a grail watch for me however my dainty wrists would require me to wear the smaller of the two.

What size wrist do you have? My wrist is 6.75 inches. And it's actually one of the smaller sports watches I have. The rest are 42-43mm.

Really nice review. I went to an AD just today with a Sub date or no date on my mind. I happened to try the new YM with the blue face and fell in love with the look and overall feel of the YM. I know must readjust my budget or buy second hand.

That blue is interesting. I have had the midsize YM SS/platinum for about four years now and love it. The dial is in great shape, too, even though I rarely take it off. Someday I would like to add a Sub Date, but I love that the YM is "under the radar" and something that I don't see on everyone else. I think I've only ever seen one other midsize on a girl in an airport in Dallas...I remember noticing it and thinking "wow, her watch is amazing," then realizing that we were wearing the same thing!

As a new owner of the YM and former owner of a sub l find the YM much kinder to the wrist weight wise. I think the YM has more appealing curves and graces the wrist in a more elegant fashion. Don't misunderstand , the sub is a statement. However, the YM is a poem.

That last statement is one of the best things I've ever read describing the YM.

I'll give the name later. What I remember now is that it was in that street in the corner or where Hotel Mira is in Nathan road. When you turn that corner it's nearby. It's actually in a building with other 2nd hand shops. Most 2nd hand shops actually carry a few used YMs. You just have to shop around.

One good resource is chrono24. Just search for YM's and set the location to HK.

I agree! I actually haven't seen another watch with a dial quite like that.

Well, it's been a year and a half since I've bought this watch and, admittedly, I haven't been using it as much as I should.

No real reason other than that I added a couple of watches to the stable: an Anonimo DDate and a Halios Tropik Bronze. Those two lend themselves to strap swapping so I've been messing around with some combos which can get addicting! Haha

Still, every time I put on my Yacht-Master, I remember why I got it in the first place. Nothing has changed. Everything I love about it is still there.
