5990 Fully Hand Engraved -- Video

Normally I would never consider modifying a great watch, but this video is pretty amazing:

I appreciate the craftsmanship but not my cup of tea. The satin finish of the Nautilus bracelet is already a work of art.

Might one suppose that it could affect the warranty?

I guess the upside is scratches won't be as noticeable.

Was thinking the same thing...you don't like it, just get it polished out at service

Kindler and Thorpe is the name of the business that does these engraved watches. They have three engravers.

I would not want a 5990 I owned engraved like this but it is a work of art and beautifully done.

Takes a lot of talent, and a big pair hanging down there. Whoever owns the watch, owns it, damn the next generation and all.

I'd like to see the expression on the customer service agent's face when the watch is brought in for service...

At the start of the video I wanted to give him 5 across the lips. At the end I was damn impressed. I personally think that sort of work best suits but hey.

I find it beautiful and interesting. If you like it and you have more than one pieces that can be engraved why not? The result is amazing, he for sure is very skilled. Not many engravers are that good. I would not do it to a one piece collection.
