Watch of the Month #9 Keep the drool away from the keyboard
This month, we had a really impressive 5512, 4 Liner Submariner from 1961. As some of you remember, Butler9999 posted this watch saying this remarkable piece was passed down from his Uncle.
To view his post, visit: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...6002&highlight After speaking with our client, he made the decision to send his watch in to W.I. for the “Spa Treatment”, and trust me, Ms. 5512 and I fell in love. In the past, this poor watch was mishandled and abused to the max by a watchmaker; worn parts, wrong adjustments and he simply overlooked the obvious needs. For this watch, I serviced the movement, adding new blood by replacing some necessary old parts while still keeping the period look. Our goal was to get it running at optimum performance while maintaining its originality by adding a very nice 7206 bracelet, period crown/tube and a period crystal. We also refurbished the main plate, which will provide many more years of life. After the “Spa Treatment”, she bounced back to life ready to be worn for the next decades to come. |

Thank you!
Phillip,
I just got back from the vacation I was on when I received the watch via UPS overnight. First, I just wanted to thank you for your great work. Not only is your work top notch, but your communication was outstanding. I'm glad we were able to get on the same page and spare no expense in making this watch the very best it could be. I have not actually worn it out and about yet, but tonight is the night! I've got a special function that I'll be wearing it proudly. The watch is not only beautiful, but I cannot wait to show my Uncle the finished product while he is still healthy. He'll be amazed as he knew it was in rough condition when he gave it to me. It is keeping amazing time. Again, thank you for doing such a wonderful job and being an all around great guy and communicator. Best wishes and my other watches will be coming to you soon. That's the ugliest thing I've ever seen.... Tell you what, I'll take it off your hands for $50 bucks. No need to thank me.. just trying to help out a friend. Heck, I'll even pay for the shipping....
