I love Lange (and own 2), but I wouldn't do that deal. I'm not a huge fan of that reference

The consensus is very clear. No, do not make this trade.

I don't like the Lange dial so for me it would be NO.

Why wouldn’t you trade the speedy & the gmt & keep the daytona for yourself...that way you’re keeping one sporty iconic watch (Daytona c) & end up with just another superb dress watch, an amazing balanced collection. You will add more money, but not as much as buying a new one from scratch.

Doesn't seem a good deal at all.

What I'd like to know is if you're considering downsizing why buy the BLNR 2 months back?
Also is this watch a long term grail?

The Lange is a beautiful watch but I don't think I would want it as my one and only. I would let the feeling pass and keep what you have.

As much as I love Lange, I would not do that trade even without giving up the 3K cash.

I really like Langes, but to give up those three watches plus $3k, I'd need to get back a Datograph.

Love the Lange but I would never trade that three for Lange as I might get bored with one watch later down the line.

I would never trade those specific watches for that Lange. Sure it's a nice watch but you have 3 great watches there. Especially the Daytona and BLNR which will continue to hold their value and appreciate in years to come. Add the Lange later on. This trade would be a huge win for him especially with the plus $3k. Hell no! I wouldn't do it for a 5711 either. Sure the wait for a 5711 is extremely long but patience is a virtue.

Thanks all for the advice, read every comment.

For a while I played with the idea of downsizing to just a Lange Dato + Rolex Sub. I travel a lot for work and my watches are always in the deposit box, so I figured having 1 really nice watch as a daily is more practical than visiting the bank so often.

I paid around $26k for the 3, and after adding the $3k cash for this trade, I figured it's like buying this used Lange for $29k. I'm starting to have a better sense... thanks for the affirmation, but just curious on why it's such an obvious no as dollar for dollar it's close. The Lange already fell from $50k to $30k, is it really that bad of a value?

Here's my collection minus the AP and the Duometre that's currently in service.

Very nice collection you have there! Those are exactly the two Rolex that I need albeit the Daytona with a white dial. The primero, speedy, Monaco are all great as is that beautiful JLC.

Love your collection. My only watch is a SubC no date, but a few watches in your collection I've considered as a second piece:

Speedy
Reverso
Monaco
or (further down the timeline) an AP ROO

If you don't mind me asking, which direction would you suggest I go?
