Incoming 5712/1A

This morning I received the call from my AD that they had a 5712/1A for me. Needless to say my pace of incomings this year have been much more frequent than normal but there is no way I was going to pass on this one. I stopped by on Aug 7th after getting back from holiday to let them know I would be interested when one came in. So, i was super surprised to get the call today 9 days after requesting it.

I really love the dial color as well as the asymmetrical dial and it’s probably the most unique dial of any watch I own and i don’t think I will ever get bored looking at it. The micro rotor is a very nice touch on this piece as well because to me the movement on the back compliments the asymmetry of the dial.

The bracelet is super comfortable although impossible to actually get off.

Congrats! Yes, I'm pretty sure they designed the bracelet to be put on once and only removed after death LOL ..

Wear it well!

Thanks

its pretty funny when the tutorial from the AD was mostly spent on how to get it off. Not so much on the moon phase or other features as those are actually much more self explanatory

Congrats. Do all 5712's come with a loupe? Is the box a special one with a cutout for the loupe? Very interesting.

thanks. Im super glad i re-engaged with the Nautilus as i wrote them off entirely after not connecting with the 5711. Super happy I looked at their other options as this one is perfect for me. Not ashamed to admit I was wrong.

No, the loupe is just sitting on the box. The box it came in is to the left of the watch box.

That was my gift from the AD. I didn't really want the wallet, they didn't have any travel cases, so the loupe it is.

Its dangerous for my OCD though so ill just look at the movement with it.

Congrats on the loupe, too! That is the one gift I hope to get from my AD at some point.

I like my 5711, but no where near my 5712, which is my favorite with the 5167R and AP ce diver. Also have the 15300 but that's on it's way out at some point, and the 5711, which I like to wear sometimes but if I needed cash for something, wouldn't regret to let it go, for me the 3 first are a perfect watch trio, all else is extra bonus, ok will think differently once I get my KV, but the 5712, 5167R and diver are perfect, still hesitating about getting the 44TI, not that my wrists are too small, at 7 inches it's fine, but my forearms are a little thin, and no intention of going to the gym to make them bigger, when you look at the 44's on my wrist they look fine, but in tshirt if you see the whole arm it seems a little off to me, need to try it or another 44 when I will be in Paris... anyways you have very cool watches

not that many as its currently fluctuating with some departures. I really try to keep the collection to a wearable number as they are all in rotation. Adding one watch has a cascade effect on rebalancing the rest. So i have done a lot of reshuffling this year.

Most recently, the Big pilot gone and AP diver is going as those got no wrist time with the RG and Ti 44's

as it stands its going to be AP ROO 44 Ti & RG, 5712, 5164A, GMT II LN, and 15400
That covers about all situations for me.

Congrats - I share your opinion on the asymmetry of the dial. For many years I didn't like this ref at all. But then one day not too long ago I started to warm to it. A phone call to my AD later it was ordered and should be with me in the next couple of weeks (before the Uk price rise)

"follow the case down from six o'clock with your finger under the bracelet. Once you get to the clasp, put your finger between the clasp and bracelet and pull up."

60% of the time it works every time.

Then they took 3 links out of the watch and put it on. I couldn't get it off as i couldn't get underneath the bracelet. Then one link went back in.

I have no idea if that is the "official" way to take it off or not though but it works pretty well.
