5164A-001 availability versus 5167A-001

So I am on waiting list(s) for the 5167A-001. I have not been given any indication of how long it would take. I just know I am number 11 on one waiitng list at an AD.

While calling various ADs in Switzerland to check availability, I was told that waiting time for the 5164A-001 is "only" 3 months. So now I am questionning myslef on upgrading or not although budegt is not the same. Is the 5164A-001 taht easy to get from an AD?

I would prefer to buy my first PP from an AD to at least get my name on the watch certificate. From grey, 5167 can be available within 1 months with a 8% premium.

I would get the 5164. Besides the added functionality, the dial is also more interesting. I prefer the thicker case on the 5164 as well.

If you travel a lot then its a no brainer.

Neither is particularly easy to get but i would say the 5167 is probably harder due to the lower price point. That is just a guess though.

I really like both though so you can't go wrong with either.

Agree. If you have the money for a 5164 why would you NOT get it? Dial looks more symmetrical and has an extra function (that is actually one of the best in the biz). Also, I don't have first hand experience of this, but I've seen others mention it and I can clearly see it in their photos.......the 5164 lume application looks more white while the 5167 looks more yellowish green.

I sold my 5164 for 5167. I prefer the slimmer case and most importantly the display of date. I find the pointer date on 5164 is not easy to read sometimes. I have no regret for this decision

5164 is easier to get from an AD. I prefer the 5164.

That's very quick! You must be a very good customer at this AD. Well enjoy your 5167!

Thanks!
Yes indeed I was struggling whether to get 5167/1a and change the SS bracelet to rubber by adding US1200 (strap, deployant clasp, pin bar)
Or to pick a 5164a which I could get immediately.
Finally I gave them up and told AD I truly want a simplest 5167a only.
Then got a call a week later.

Cheers.

Sounds reasonable to me. 5164 is great and if money is not an issue I would go for it

I own the 5164, no regrets. I'd only get a 5167r.

I went from 5164 to the 5167. I actually prefer the slimmer profile and date window vs the wheel. For multiple time zones I have other watches I prefer to travel with.

I have the 5164 and it is a great watch. Perfect size and thickness for me. I find the 5167 a little too thin.

for some reason i prefer a thicker watch on straps and thinner watches on bracelets if all other factors are equal or close to being equal.

so for me, clearly, the 5164 and 5712 makes sense vs a 5167 and a 5726

They are both excellent watches. It really depends on how long you are willing to wait to get the watch you want. If you really want the 5167, then I would add your name to multiple AD wait lists and wait for the call.

Due to the pricing, the 5164 is more readily available. But make sure it is a watch you will enjoy wearing and not just because it was more readily obtainable.

If you live near Geneva, go back as many times to the Salon and try on both.

I have both the 5167A and the 5164A and like them both for different reasons. Date legibility is better on the 5167. Time zone changes are easier on the 5164.

I had the call on the 5167 about 6-7 weeks after showing interest but declined that but picked up the second they had about 8 months later.

So think I was lucky with the quick first offer but when I was looking but not in a position to buy I found a few 5164a available but no 5167a.

But from I've heard 5164a's are thin on the ground, my AD is quoting next year but I haven't looked around to confirm this.

For reference I'm UK based.

This was my move. Bought the bracelet version which took about a month
While their rubber waitlist was too long. Add the rubber/clasp and I viewed it as
A expedient tax. Of course also get tons of versatility.

Call around to some US ADs, I wouldn't be surprised if you could land one very soon. Might be worth a fun trip to the US to pick it up! :-)

5167 is harder to get from what I have seen, got my 5164 after less than 2 months. So biased but I'd go 5164 nomatter the waiting time of either.

I had the 5167, then went to 5164. Love both, could make an argument for either one. I guess it all depends on how often you travel and what else you have in your collection

5167 should not be that hard, found two by mailing random ADs in Germany.

Please let me know which ones. I have contacted all Swiss AD, northern Italy and South Germany.... I am on 5 waiting lists only in Switzerland. AD contacted in Germany and Italy did not want to add me on waiting list as I am not already a customer.

Last week, my local AD had one in the window for 3 days. Gone now, went pretty fast or was just being displayed until the rightful owner came.

I'd go for the 5164 if you are used to wearing rolex.
IMO the 5167 is the most boring and underwhelming watch I have owned. Sold it after a month.
Also, after someone mentioned the dial looks too much like a hand grenade, I can't unsee it. Similar to the new Royal Oak Panda chrono looking like Mickey Mouse.

I'd get myself on as many waiting list from ADs as possible, since very few require a deposits. Many times when a piece comes in they'll start calling their lists, some may pass or may not be reachable and they may call on you sooner.

Seen it many times.

5167. If either will do then get the less expensive one.

Honestly mine didn't stick around for long but a nice watch nonetheless.
