Yes, but only because I go straight from the gym to work. I lift pretty much every day. I have a private locker but still not secure enough for my liking so will not put my watches in there. On the weekends when I am planning on returning home, I do not wear a watch unless I forget to take it off. I do play golf with a watch on. Just got use to the weight of it. At this point it is somewhat ritualistic. Not that golfer are superstitious

In the process of setting up a home gym and hot tub, so will quit the club and will no longer where a watch while working out.

I donn't know how you guys lift weights with a Rolex on. Or any watch.

Not trying to sound like a "tough guy" but my Rolex would not last one workout with the way I throw kettelbells and dumbbells around. One kettlebell snatch and the crystal is cracked.

i am too sweaty at the gym to be wearing any watch. but if i end up going straight to the gym after work, then yes id rather leave it on my wrist than to leave it in the locker room.

Nah, not my thing. I understand from a security standpoint with the lockers and all that jazz; but see no practical/worthy use of my Rolex in the gym.

KBs I can understand, but, I throw some DBs around myself with no issues to my watch.

I prefer nothing on my wrists for working out based on just comfort, I'd imagine I'd feel a bit awkward lifting weights and running on the treadmill personally with my Daytona or GMT on. I always leave my watch in my locked glove compartment of my car when I get to the gym (don't trust the lockers at the gym and park in a very visible area in a secure parking lot). A Rolex could definitely take the wear and tear though at the gym.

For situations and considerations like this, makes me happy I have personal insurance through JM for my watches. Less to worry and stress about.

tried it and definitely lifting weights with the 16710 isn't comfortable... can only imagine how the bracelet would stretch more rapidly over time by wearing it at the gym ...

I just hesitate to leave anything of value in the locker. Especially as the lockers at my gym are ones where you set your own combo - and you can ask the maintenance people to open them in case you forget your code. On the odd day I don't feel like wearing my watch at the gym, I just simply lock it in my work office, which is secured by 4 levels of locks (elevator, work area, office door and drawer lock).

I see people locking Rolexes, APs, PPs, IWCs and JLCs in their lockers all the time without a second thought, but I just wouldn't be comfortable leaving them unattended for more than an hour.

I'm an exec who works for the largest fitness chain in Canada with over 400 gyms and I can tell you that on a daily basis lockers are broken into so I would not advise leaving your watch in a locker. No matter how posh the gym is...it happens all the time.

I'll clarify my earlier answer, not that anyone cares what I think. I only wear it at the gym because I go there straight from work, and because of security - I've had lockers broken into and money stolen, and cars broken into as well. It takes 5 seconds to bust out a window and open a glove compartment. Or pop a trunk.

On days when I go to the gym directly from home, I leave the watch at home.

Unless I'm going out afterwards. I feel naked without it.

haha Fredrik is definitely that kind of guy - though he probably can afford to buy another Sub everyday if he really wanted to

The gym and sleeping are about the only times I'm not wearing a watch. Otherwise, I strap up pretty much all the time.

I would not fear wearing the Rolex to the gym- it is entirely a matter of your comfort level. If a few nicks and dings on the case edge are acceptable, wear it with pride. But be ready for the ding- it will come, guaranteed. Most likely on the crown side from reaching in to grab a plate or weight off a rack.

Guess it just doesn't bother some people. I hardly take mine off, unless showering or sleeping.

Kettle bells wreak havoc on watches. My first Apple Watch bit the dust because of my exuberance with kettle bells. :)

I’ve been running in my YM for 17 years, and done oly distance tris. The risk I anticipated was a bad fall on the bike or running but so far so good.

Yeah, it’s a rough life for a Platinum bezel watch but this thing is incredible. Durable. Strong. Reliable. Beautiful. What rolex is all about!
