5167 new 5711
Hello Guys,
Is 5167 heading to become the new 5711? At least it seems that waiting lists are getting longer, pre owned prices are getting higher and the overall interest towards this so called entry level Patek is increasing. What do you think? Is there less supply for 5167 or has the demand for 5167 suddenly during the last months gone up? 6 months ago there was plenty of supply for pre owned at 16K$ price level. Now they are starting at 19K. So whats going on? |

i do think it is starting to catch on with more people. I remember seeing it at an AD in london on display about 3 years ago. Those days are long gone.
Specifically with Houston though as i just got back from a trip there and used to live there. The PP selection is rubbish. Its the fourth largest city in the US and they have 1 AD which is new and Tiffany. At Tiffany they told me i had to buy several watches i didn't want in order to be considered for a SS sports model. I wasn't seriously looking to buy from them anyway, i just like to stop by AD's wherever i am. Edit: i just looked up the number of AD's in NY and LA so maybe its not so bad in Houston with the two. That really surprised me actually. London has 11 |

Tulip mania on the 5711 rolling down to the 5167. People getting priced out of buying a 5711 are turning to the 5167 (case in point - me!).
In Canada, no AD will even entertain putting you on a waitlist for the 5711, 5712 or 5167 (the only models I asked) as a new client. |

I could see that. I have seen a ton of 5167/5164 incomings in relation to the 5711 incomings as of late, but I am unsure if that is because I have been paying more attention.

If I wanted a 5726 or 5990 in SS, I could get on the list now and have it within a year. Same with a SS Aquanaut. |

Tulips, dotcome, subprime, Quantitative Easing...
while I am not a friend of PP for various reasons, I do find the Aquanauts much more appealing than the Nautiluses... either the people have recognized that there is also an Afterlife-after-Nautilus or a new Hype has just commenced... |

I have the 5711/1A and recently added a 5167. Together they make a great pair. I always thought the 5167 was tough to obtain.

I had a 5167, sold it, then recently picked up another. I love the Aquanaut. The Nautilus doesn't work for me. I've seen a few now and tried them on. The 5711 wears way too flat on my wrist, and the 5712 wears better, but has a dial layout I dislike. The Aquanaut is very under the radar, dresses up or down, I wore my last one swimming without worry, weighs 80g on rubber and has the most legible dial of any watch I've owned.
Sure, the Nautilus has all the hype surrounding it, but I feel the Aquanaut is my favourite watch of all time. |

Often wonder if my 116655 was a better rubber strap option than 5167....anyway both gone. The 116655 lasted a bit longer but I made money in the PP and lost a small amount in the Rolex. Now have 2 Nautilus and never ever thought I would own even 1
