60 Seconds around an Exp 2

A lot of thought went into the design of the dial and hands. The 2 globes on either end of the second hand forms tangents and intersections with key design elements of the watch. I am sure there are others that I missed.

This is also something that I noticed when I bought this watch and thought it was pretty cool. I have my blnr a few months now and I have actually never looked to see if it does the same thing. I must take a look when I get home from work. It might be a thing that carries across all models with similar seconds hands

Yes, I have noticed that as well on my Exp II. Other Rolex models have similar tangents and intersections, but I have found more in the Exp II.

Thanks for posting great picts.

wow, very nice observation indeed. Many thanks for pointing that out. I wonder if subs/sea-dwellers/GMTs/Deepseas/YMs have the same feature or not. They all have similar designs.

Last photo: "bubble" on the second hand reaches just the vertex of the triangle at the 12o' clock position

3rd one from the end: "bubble" on the second hand reaches just the tip of the vertical bar at the 6o' clock position

2nd photo: the "bubble" on the second hand is tangential to the cyclops lens

etc.

Other photos have similar geometrically and aesthetically pleasing features. And all of these is just not by accident ... Rolex certainly gave a lot of thought to all of these. Many other watch brands use similar dial design but not take care of all these subtle details,

Great watch though I think Rolex would really have aced it here had they turned this out in 40mm. Just a thought!

Like the original better with its readable hands.

The hands may be readable but the dial is kind of a mess. I love my 1655 in spite of its awkward dial, but more than once I've set the time and found out later it was off by 2.5 minutes due to the confusing layout. Guess I just can't resist the orange hand.
