I would say that's not true as supply is fixed for the 116600 and in all likelihood will be much lower than that of the SD43 barring any unexpected moves by Rolex.

116600 is a classic that is gone, it will be in the Rolex history book as the shortest production sea dweller. It's a must get watch for me. Will be getting one soon. Those who bought it this watch is a keeper. U can always get a submariner, batman gmt, hulk sub, new red sdc, daytona anytime of the day at AD as these new references become common and widely available as time goes but not 116600.

What happen to blackout explorer 14270 is a good indication. Not to mention there are so much changes between 116600 and 126600.

I think the 43 is the better watch, and purists can always buy a 5 digit SD. The 116600 is IMO not that enticing and too mass produced to reach any coveted status. Still a solid watch, but as an investment? No way - better luck getting a Kermit.

True however purists can always buy a 14270 no blackout but they prefer blackout.

I think it will go up in value at about inflation rate.

It may appreciate in huge % but it'll take a long long time that I may not be able to witness it.

I got one BNIB form an AD for £5700 just under 2 years ago, so yes they will go up

Personally, I like the watch, almost bought one 2 years ago ($7.5K), never went thru with it. But what guys are asking for now, I would not pay.
