6263 “Low Sigma”?
A well known dealer is advertising a 6263 as having a “low sigma” dial, referring to the fact that the sigma symbols which one would expect to see on the dial of this reference are not really visible, and/or not where you expect to find them. (If you want to see the listing, just Google - Rolex “Low Sigma.”)
Certainly this is nothing I have ever heard of before. Any comments on this “rare variant” would be appreciated. |

Do you mean a 6265? Is it this one: https://tropicalwatch.com/watches/cctr ?
I've actually never heard that term before, but Jacek knows his stuff. Still, I'd recommend spending some time searching to see if you can find other, similar examples, assuming you're thinking about buying it. No matter how rare this dial might be, surely there are others out there. |

6263 “Low Sigma”?
I can’t speak for the Daytona but I’ve come across Datejusts within the same era that have the sigma and T SWISS T printed well below where they should be. Installation of the dial on the case cuts the text off about halfway.

Thanks. Yes, I mean that one. Yes, Jacek knows his stuff. Yes, I still need to go through the due diligence process. It's just something I had never seen or heard of and was hoping to get some help from the community. Appreciate your input. thanks again.

6263 “Low Sigma”?
It’s more commonly known as “hidden sigma” ....
Oddly, I also owned this very watch ages ago. It’s very nice (I sold it when building a war chest for a big crown). |

Just adding that the idea of a "hidden sigma" seems so odd. Wasn't the whole idea of the sigma dial to indicate to buyers that the hands and indexes are gold? Not a very effective communication tool if it's hidden. I guess it's a form of misprint.

Definitely odd placement. Maybe the dial makers couldn’t fit it between the T and hashmarks, and didn’t want to upset the “balance” of the dial by putting it above the T’s? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
