Love Maui!

One of my best friends left for Maui after college and never came back. We were there a few years back for his wedding and while it may be cliche, the Road to Hana was one of the best things that we've done.

Agreed, my wife have been there 7 times over the years and it's always been the best.

Think I mentioned this before but the last time I was there Jimmy Buffet was at the next table. Brunchtime.

The only celebrity during our visit was the view from our table.

Now we only go to the 'great places" maybe once a trip. Lahaina Grill, Mamas Fish House, Roys, etc and go to cheaper places or cook in, the rest of the time.
I found that too! Actually, some of my favorite food was on the road to Hana! I seriously do have dreams about the banana bread, and the development right before Hana proper on top of the hill has some great coconut shrimp, fish fry, and Huli Huli Chicken!

That camero must have been fun to drive the road to Hana...I had my wife and 4 kids piled into a Yukon XL.

These guys are really tempting me too!

I've been to Oahu once and after our trip next month Kauai three times.

I really need a date with Maui and the Big Island!!!

Jason,

We were just looking at photos of Our Maui meet up with you and your beautiful family.

We will be there for two weeks at the end of February/early March.

Maybe we can meet up again for cocktails? Hope the family is well.

My wife and I visited Maui a few years after we were married (been married 37 years). We need to go back one of these days. It was special.

We're supposed to be there in March as well. If the planet doesn't explode.

Marriott Ka'anapali.

This is me.

Well not really.

We stay at the Mana Kai at the north end of Keawakapu and usually drive over for lunch at Mama’s at least once. The view is so nice I have a hard time going there at night,

This will be our 8th trip in January, we used to stay in the Wailea area but the past five trips we stay north of Kaanapali on dreamy Napili Bay. My equilibrium can’t handle The Road to Hana or snorkeling as I get older, but Mamas Fish House in Paia more than makes up for it.

Driving up Haliakala, sitting above the clouds and watching the sun rise above the clouds was almost a spiritual experience.

It was a pain in the butt to get up in the middle of the night and drive up steep elevation to the park and sit in very cold air awaiting the sunrise. But I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Not nearly as fun as riding up and then coasting down.
