Trying to decide between a day date 18238 or both a sea dweller 16600 and explorer 14270.

Opinions?

Interesting, exactly my last decision point, although it was between a 50th SD and an 18238.

Up until I actually went to the bank and wired the money, I was stuck between the two.

Went with the 18238 and am glad I did, really nice examples are getting harder and harder to find, after about 4 months of looking, found a perfect 1999 A series, YG, stick, silver dial Day-Date.

No regrets.....

Each option is on opposite ends, IMO. What is your lifestyle/dress like? The 18238 is quite a commitment to a very specific look. While the 14270 and 16600 are do anything pieces.

This may sound dumb, but I would go hard and get both the 18238 and 16600. Both are out of production and if you have a shot a two good examples, this may be an opportunity where you may have to be bold.

Take the 18238. It has double quick set so you're good. This is the biggest improvement over the 1803 and 18038. What are you missing vs. 118238? Better clasp, polished case, and lume sticks if you choose a stick dial. Also engraved rehaut if 2006 or newer.

Nice mint ones can be had in the low 10s. I would suggest getting one and seeing how you like it. If you decide it's not for you, you can always sell it.

They are opposite choices but I have both sport and dress options already. I have the lifestyle for either selection.

I like the way you think! Picking up both was a long term plan but somehow this forum always helps me spend money.

The 18238 is a really comfortable watch. Condition of the watch and bracelet is the only issue. Get the nicest you can find (like the other guy who posted pics of his with the beautiful silver dial).
