Great car. Thinking of getting one for the wife (for me really, but I can’t say goodbye to my Aston so the only way to get the Targa is to get it for my wife!). I think the Targa GTS is the perfect model variant.

Agreed!!

Not sure they always do it this way - it’s my first Porsche - but I have to say, it was special!!! My dealer was amazing and made the first ownership experience super super special for me! I’ve seen a few videos of new cars being handed over like this too!

There was a recent thread about trading watches in for a 911. This is making me give that idea some consideration. Stunning vehicle.

Every boy should own a Porsche 911 at some point.

Well done!

Yeah, OK, girls too.

Funny you say that - I have a close friend who’s a massive Porsche aficionado. We went for lunch a month or so ago and he had bought his Targa - and the rest is history.

Thank you. Fully agree. The car is insane. I’m sure I have received two tickets between the day I collected it (Thu) and yesterday. I’ll pay them with a smile on my face.

By the way, re the buffeting, does it get better when you press the air deflector on top of the windscreen? Do you still have to crack the side windows open a bit?

Thank you so much!

Sorry for the slow response! I have not tried holding down the deflector as that seems more tedious. Simply cracking the window is a breeze and problem solved. The targa offers the best of both worlds

For you 992 owners - I have a question.

I am trying to disable the stop/start function on “normal” drive mode. I have my Porsche ID up and loaded. Every tome I turn the car off, it loses that bloody config.

Any thoughts?

Thank you….

You can set one of the individual buttons on the steering wheel for that. HATE auto start stop

2023 911 Targa 4 GTS - incoming!

Getting the car PPF’ed on Friday, will cover the whole of it.

That’ll be a really expensive trip :) enough for a good Omega watch….

I can’t believe how much joy this car provides!!!! It’s really incredible.

I guess they’ll take 4 or 5 days to apply the PPF (aargh). Short term pain for long term gain I suppose. Not sure how much it will REALLY protect but everyone is advising me to, so as a good pushover I’m obliging

And it’s miserable with rain here for now so…. :)

2023 911 Targa 4 GTS - incoming!

Back from PPF - finally!!!! - got the rubber mats, aluminium petrol cap, etc, before being driven to the garage to sleep. :)

I have to say, I’m utterly impressed with the quality of their work….

And this is whilst the work was being carried out. Interesting that the pictures show the hue of the colour in different tones. Of course, artificial lights vs natural overcast light… and different phones. This picture below looks closer to what I see in the naked eye.

Upgrading my phone to an iPhone 15 tomorrow.
