The OFFICIAL GMT Master and GMT Master II Owner's Thread

But the Speedmaster on the winder for a few days and busted out my original grail. I'm impressed by the wrist presence of a 40mm watch on my 7 3/4" ham-hock wrists. I think it's the classic elegance of the SS bracelet. It blends with the case so perfectly that the watch wears bigger than it really is.

Love that thread! Gentlemen, keep them coming, your pictures are a great inspiration. I would love to add a 16710 to my Submariner...one day.

First post. Picked this up in Barcelona while travelling. In NOS condition from 1999. There's no words to describe that feeling when I picked it up, it was like it's kept in a Time capsule waiting to be found. Now does anyone know where can I find a original 16700 bezel. .. ?

Hello all,

Just a quick question, and apologies if it has already been addressed before ad nauseam. Picked up a GMT Master II, 116710 LN a little while ago. It gets very little wrist time and is not on a winder. I've noticed that I have to wind it a great deal more than other watches (Daytona, Luminor, Grand Seiko, etc) to get it going after it stops. Is this normal? I am talking maybe 20 turns for the Daytona, and about the same for Luminor and GS; by contrast, the GMT II takes closer to 50 or so before the seconds hand starts moving.

Many thanks folks.

In Search of a GMT with R serial number

I am in search of a GMT with an r-serial number (from 1988). Please let me know if you or someone you know has one for sale. Are there any vintage Rolex dealers who might be able to track down something like this? Thanks for your help!

There is a member here that goes by SoHAIS. He's a trusted seller with whom I've done business, he has a high-end watch shop in Atlanta, and he's a Rolex aficionado. I got my 16710 from him. A prince to deal with.
