Any information on Emergency 2?

Spoke to a salesperson at an authorized Breitling dealer and was told Emergency 2 is coming out next year but no details were shared. Any info on this?

I would be curious to know more as well. I had a emergency from 2006 and it was just such a cool piece. Wonder what the future holds for the model......

Lol I'm hoping for a more similar size. Breitling has been toning back it seems

I hope there is a 42mm option, my Emergency mission was unwieldy at times. I probably should have had the Titanium original, but I loved the analog look.

Yeah I thought that the Emergency that I had was the perfect size. I would hope they keep it similar in size to the previous generation.

How many times has an emergency actually been used?

I've found 3 articles through google, where they reference 3 seperate rescues attributed to the watch, regarding aviation mishaps and many write-ups pertaining to rescues of fishermen, hikers, explorers etc..

The Emergency and Emergency Mission models are discontinued by Breitling, but not obsolete. There are many threads on this, and a lot of information on 121.5MHz monitoring on the web,

but the only change is that there is no longer satellite monitoring of the 121.5MHz frequency, a largely irrelevant fact for Emergency owners because unless

the situation is perfect the signal wouldn't be strong enough to be monitored by satellites anyway.

Aircraft and rescue services continue to monitor 121.5 so the watch is just as useful as the day that it was launched.

In terms of a new version, there is a 406MHz version coming, but no confirmation of when - maybe this year, at this point I suspect that 2014 is more likely.

However, you could argue that even then 121.5 is more useful in a real emergency as it is easier to pinpoint the source of the signal with 121.5than with 406.

Greetings all!
-after leaving a Breitling training seminar I heard the new watch will have built in GPS. I know nothing of looks or size. The watch will be big for 2013!!

Cheers!

I'm buying one if they make WR to 100 meters with a screwed down crown not 5meters.
