RolexGMT 6542 after return form repairers.

Hi folks I'm a newbie to the forum. I thought you might be interested in a before and after picture of my Dads Rolex GMT 6542 that I inherited. I've had the date wheel and new crystal fitted. The strap on the "before" pic is not a Rolex strap as I'm sure you'll know!. Kind regards Pete

Hi Saskmh, thanks , that’s really interesting and impressive that you can name the bezel I knew it came from another Rolex around late 60’s early 1970 can’t remember exactly as I was a youngster. My dad was very friendly with a local watch dealer who gave it to him. I had no idea of the name , so many many thanks for identifying the bezel. The original went the way of many others as did the original bracelet unfortunately. Kind regards Pete PS nice collection by the way!

Thanks, I'm told it has the smooth bezel from a vintage Rolex Milgauss 6541 fitted as the original bezel went south in the lates 60's early 70's . Regards Pete

That's the watch Marlon Brando wore in Apocalypse Now! (His was GMT Master, not II)
