Lost in translation. Bill Murray datejust

After recently revisiting this movie. I noticed that bill was wearing a blue datejust. Look closely and the crown is unscrewed lol.. what a great movie..

Crown unscrewed to hack movement so watch does not change time and therefore mess up shooting schedules they do the same for clocks.
Some years ago I met someone who rented watches as props for films, he bought quirky watches and classic tank cased stuff etc. He told me he put superglue inside back of movement to stop then working! He also said it helped with the watches not walking off set too!

Can’t go wrong with a DateJust. Simple, and classy. Looks like a 36mm. Only size I feel is appropriate for that style watch.

Is this a Datejust 36 or 41?
Fluted bezel?

I cannot make it out for sure from the pics.

Great movie anyway

It's a 16234 of 36 just like mine. I bought it after I saw the movie.

A while back I did a post with the story

Careful taking screen shots pics of movies is not kosher, I think?

One of my all time favourite movies.
No, Scarlett Johansson has nothing to do with it

Unscrewed crown. That’s strange, but it’s Hollywood. Shouldn’t be surprised.

I suppose it’s similar to rifles with missing, or locked back, bolt carriers that still somehow go bang. I notice that all the time.
