Does anyone have the ceramic Bulgari Octo Finissimo Automatic?

I have the BOFA in Ti but thinking of flipping for a ceramic black version. I have been looking at blacked out watches for a while but they are all PVD and decided I want to go all ceramic. Been eyeing the GP Laureto in ceramic also.

Does anyone have experience of BOFA ceramic??

Do you prefer Ti or ceramic?

Between Octo and the Laureto, what would you choose and why?

In general, Ti scratches easily. It looks good, though. Ceramic does not scratch, but I don't know how the Octo looks in ceramic, i.e. does it look too shiny?

Iím not sure this Ti scratches easy, it seems to not scratch at all. Or it doesnít show on the mate surface.

This is a pick from SJX, the ceramic is mate and hands are painted with chrome mixed paint. Ultra cool imao.

Probably not worth taking the bath on resell of Ti and then buying ceramic though...

I really like the look of the Octo. I spent all my spare money, though.

On Ti, my knowledge comes from pocket knives, which often come in high grade titanium (the handles). I don't know of any surface of Ti, like bead blasting, stone washing, etc. that does not show scratches. I guess one could exist, though.

Are we talking about this friend?

It is not shiny. It does not scratch and it is ridiculously light. All in all, it is a great watch.

Yes, the watch is accurate and it looks like nothing else in my collection. And that is why I needed it. Lol!

I also did not have a CE watch, now I have two. The cool part of this watch is everything except for the pins that hold the bracelet together is CE. Very cool

Awesome! I think I like the black look better than Ti or Steel.

Are the hands that legible normally or not really?

^ Very nice.

This is just my personal opinion but it does not appear to me that the level of finishing on the movement warrants spending the cake on the skeleton. I think Bulgari finishes movements plenty good for the price point I just feel the movement appears more industrial than say an AP openwork which for me leaves something to be desired on such a piece.

I donít like it in ceramic. It is too black, literally almost just solid black and completely impossible to see the time even inside the well lit boutique. I wouldnít buy it and would keep your Ti. Here are pics of the ceramic when I tried it...

The second pic is a perfect representation of what the watch looks like when trying to read the time.... you canít! The hands should be yellow or white gold, something with better contrast.

Wow that is very dark and impossible to read. The Ti is impossible to read in low light but at least not in daylight. Hmmm.... need to go and see it somewhere. They didn't have it in Vienna this weekend, at least where I looked.

I agree with this. If not finished to a very high level I'd rather not have it skeleton. Also think the monochrome dial is part of the whole Octo design.

Agreed. Too dark for my taste. I really liked the skeleton on leather though

Actually, I never try to read the time with my wrist so far away. Your first pic is typically how it looks at a glance in the real world. I have never had an issue reading the time except when there is no light.

In almost any light, the shiny hands and hour indexes can be seen due to the fact they reflect light.

It is not nearly as hard to read as it seems. Just some thoughts based on owning the watch for over a month and wearing it quite a bit.

Update on my side, things went fast since i started thinking about it. I have sold the Octo Ti. Tried to wear it over a long weekend trip 4-days straight and while comfortable and cool design I just could not come to terms with the grey titanium look on myself. Loved to have the watch in my hand and just look at it from different angles but on the wrist I often wished I had something else. It says something if I had the watch for a year and this was probably as much I have worn it in total last 6-months.

Once I get the chance to see ceramic I will know if I get another Octo or not..

I think this is a very helpful and informative post. Makes me wonder what is the point of having it all black if not legible.

That is not nicely finished at all, really surprising. Nice to look at the thinness of the movement from the open case back, but the skeleton dial is poorly executed.

My favorite of the bunch is the steel. Gives it just enough heft to give it substance, but not heavy. It is also much brighter than the TI and contrasts with the indices nicely.
