Thinking about a Smurf or full YG Bluesy, or maybe even a blue dial DD40.

The Smurf seems like a pretty logical choice for work/rest/play. Can a full YG Bluesy or DD40 be worn as an only watch?

Valuewise, am I in the ballpark for a trade?

Thanks

I wouldn’t do this trade. They’re both great watches

Rather than trade, I actually sold the Bluesy and BLRO locally, and then a deal popped up for the NIB YG Bluesy. Managed to put a few dollars back in my pocket in the process. I'm super pleased. My common sense brain was telling me WG, but my heart wanted that YG Bluesy Sub.

More pics when it lands in a few days.

Now, to figure out what to get as a "beater" :)

I'd recommend being 100% sure you're ready to go bold so the watch doesn't sit in the safe and you regret the purchase.

If you're looking for a nice beater, you can't beat Tudor for the price point. My two cents.

I'm 26 and consolidated down to a YG bluesy for a daily. Life is too short to wait until you are old to enjoy PM.

Gold is still plenty durable for a daily (the really vulnerable part is the mirrored portion of the clasp, which you have on your TT sub anyway).

Unless you personally like the look of WG I would go yellow or rose. The idea of a "stealth watch" is silly... a YG rolex looks like a cheap Michael Kors and a WG/steel rolex looks like a cheap mall watch to the uninformed. Pick the color you actually like.

I would not trade those two stunning watches, I have a Blusey and a Seadweller and love the difference, I also think a full yellow gold watch is to soft for everyday use, but you only can decide in the end

Beautiful they are, but personally, I would not expose myself like that since I often travel to the city centre. The irony is that some stainless watches are worth more than 18k watches, and just fly under the radar.
I agree here. OP has a great one-two punch, but like everything else in life, everyone has different flavors.

That's awesome! I've been considering doing the same with a TT bluesey, Wimbledon & Air King. Consolidate if you will.

You sir are an inspiration :)

Both gone, but I managed to get this guy BNIB with a warranty card dated last week, and still managed to pocket a few extra dollars.

Honestly, couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

would consider saving up and packaging the bluesy with some cash to get a gold watch of your choosing. You may regret selling the Pepsi and your chances of getting it back without paying a huge premium are slim

Big congrats. FYI gold is not soft. Yes it is softer than SS but not noticeably IMO. People have worn gold DD's for decades, daily, and no one accused those watches of being soft. This soft thing is a new trope and not based in reality.
Yes gold scratches, but so does SS and platinum (I have owned all three) and I wore mine, and currently wear the Smurf every day. It has some scratches but I don't care. Check out my scratched up Smurf.
