Stranded with one Rolex

Ok. Lets pretend you are stranded on a dark desert highway. Cool wind in your hair. Warm smell of colitas rising up through the air....

What Rolex would you want to have on to ensure your survival and why?

I will tell you mine soon after some insight from my friends on the Rolexforum

Stranded with one Rolex

Paul Newman Daytona - I would sell that at a Christie’s or sotheby’s auction house (closest branch) and bag that 18M...... no problems from this point onwards

Since you on a dark highway I'd take my Polar. If you said an island like in Castaway it would a SkyD for the annual calender.

I wouldn't need a watch because I could check out any time I like.

While stranded on a dark desert highway.......a Rolex on my wrist would not even be in my top three list of concerns, except that depending on the situation and what country I could be in, how fast could I use it as a currency for my survival. That would probably be my only thought as it relates to a watch while I'm trying to return my status to normal.

For pure survival of it, maybe DSSD, but in real life, gold Submariner to barter for a car to get outta there.

Rainbow Daytona full ice. Can easily convert that to some sort of cash and food.

I’d be afraid it’d get scratched as they stab it with their steely knives.

Well, since my head will most likely grow heavy while my sight grows dim, I'll probably take the Pelagos, due to its light weight and amazing lume.

Great thread, huge Eagles fan here.

Possibly something with a pink champagne dial, and an "iced" bezel?

The SD43, because been in the desert I would put a smile on my face every time I looked at it as it does every day in the city and for the situation is handsome, strong, comfortable, the best Rolex lume and very good time keeper.

The only way a Rolex is going to ensure anyone’s survival is by selling it for cash.

I once hiked up a mountain for about 4 hours, then it started raining

Raining really hard

I promise, the last thing on my mind was my watch

Stranded on the side of the road? I Wells hope my phone has signal so I can call for help, and that I have pepper spray to help defend myself if any unwanted company arrives
