DJ Crystal

On shopping round for a replacement Date Just crystal I have had some remarks from watchmakers, the most annoying being that they can fit an OEM part for £375 or a non-Rolex for £160 but they "cant guarantee that its waterproof". Now, why would anyone wish to change a leaky crystal for a newer version and pay for the pleasure ?

Not all watchmakers are equal. Some won’t have the vacuum testing equipment. Look for someone else.

Go to an official service center.

If the watch is in good condition and only needs a new crystal (because of small chips or scratches) then the new crystal is €130 and €90 for the work. This is an official partial service.

Any Rolex boutique with a watchmaker on site should replace a crystal for $200ish. I just had my hulk serviced at a RSC and when I came back to my AD I noticed they didn’t change the crystal and asked they said it wasn’t bad so Rolex didn’t change it. They told me any time I want it changed bring it in and they’ll do it at the local AD for $200. Most other non Rolex watchmakers will charge you double and claim they’re saving you money when compared to the AD. I saw Anthony On TPG tell a client it would be 4-500 thru them and much much more thru Rolex. Lol GTFO
