Superocean Automatic 48

Who has one and what do you think? I’ve been eyeing this beauty for a few weeks. Post up pics if you have one.

I like large, beefy, tough watches and this one looks the part, in pics at least.

I don't own one, but looked at one at a local boutique recently. If you like large and beefy, it's right up your alley! Personally, 44 is about as large as I want, but the turn off for me with the 48 was the thickness. Just too chunky for my wrist.

Thick you say? Now I like it even more. Been looking for something thicker than my Deepsea, lol

Looking forward to seeing more pictures of this piece. I don't own one, nor have I seen it in person, but appreciate the design.

Ok since you seem to be the only one who’s seen one in person, did it look like a 48mm? Or did it present smaller? From pics it looks like there’s an extension of some type on the 9pm side of the watch and I’m wondering if that is what’s helping the size go up to 48mm? What is that anyway? Is it just a shadow in the pic?

Don't quote me on this, but I believe the bezel rotates both directions and the thing on the left side is a locking mechanism. It is no doubt a large watch, Breitling actually calls is "Big, bold and bulky" in the product description. It is a sharp looking watch, with good lines/proportions; I just didn't like how thick it was. It definitely looks like it belongs in the 46-48 range; when you see it, there is no doubt it isn't a Superocean 44. I could see it being mistaken for a 46 though.

As you stated above, you like large watches, with that said, I'd think you would really like this watch. In my opinion, it is much better proportioned and nicer looking than a DSSD.

I have seen these several times, including just last night. They are huge. Much too large IMO.

I agree. They are just way too massive for me. I do, however, wish that Breitling offered this dial layout without the date or numerals in smaller SuperOcean diameters like 42-44mm.

My wrist is so small that at best I think 40-41 tops it for me.

Well I just got one, yes it’s big, bulky and beautiful.

However, I am a big guy and also have a 50mm U-Boat.

Personally I don’t think it is too large, but I can see how others would.

I think it’s a great looking watch, if it was a 42 I’d be all over it.

I have a Breitling boutique a few blocks away from my place, I’ll try to swing by and take pics for you this week if I can.

I have the 42 and love it. The 48 would dwarf my 7" wrist.IMG_4809.jpeg

As a follow up, love the watch. However, I will be upgrading to the deployant buckle.

Not cheap, but it’s what I want. Unfortunately Santa didn’t know.
