Paket Philippe Bracelet
I was told if your watch is leather strap and if you
wanted to change it to bracelet you cant purchase bracelet from PP and change it. It that so? |

Correct. If you own a 5980R-001 you can't just buy a bracelet to make it look like the 5980/1R. It has to be custom made OR you have to own both and then swap them over.

So the only way is to get from used market.

if that fits and if you can locate one but
most of PPs (except Aquanaut)are not designed to hold both bracelet and strap .

There is a pic of the 5712r with a bracelet on the intraweb. I believe that one is a fake as well |

It’s custom made only. I’ve seen one in real life and it looks pretty amazing, couldn’t even tell it was aftermarket.

i think it depends.
Some strap watches have slightly different case shapes vs the bracelet models.... kind of like a daytona. A strap daytona case is different than a bracelet daytona so an OEM bracelet won't fit on it. Aquanauts on bracelets use to not be able to fit the strap (i think), but for some reason now they can so sometimes people buy the bracelet 5167 and then put it on rubber because the bracelet version is easier to get. I assume you can go in reverse if you want. look at the middle end link of a 5712 for example.... different... obviously they are different metals, but the attachment from case to bracelet and from case to strap is different.... same goes for 5980

The endlink on the straps is larger than the bracelet's so they can't be switched, 5980's looks the closest in size but pretty sure can't be done, more likely a dial swap or a fake Paket Philip.

I believe you cannot add the bracelet to a strap watch. Something about it doesn't allow it to fit. But you can buy a strap for the bracelet watch. If you want the bracelet you have to buy the whole watch as with the Aquanaut. Rolex does the same thing.

Rolexes are the same way. You can't put Daytona bracelets on Oysterflex Daytonas. I've asked. :( |

Doesn’t the aquanaut have the option?
Provided it is a later model the will accommodate each choice.

Yes. I bought the 5167/1A and now have it on rubber for the summer. Not sure it works the other way around but it would seem like it should. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

What's discussed above, however, is adding a bracelet on a reference that has no bracelet-counterpart. |

if the watch never came in that configuration that it is not likely to be an option from the AD for patek or rolex for that matter. the OP wasn't specific in original post
