GMT Insert Authenticity Question

Hi there- wonder if anyone might know if this black insert that was once on my 16750 is a genuine insert or aftermarket...

On the backside, there should be a flat outer ring on the on the edge before the insert turns downward. I'm not seeing that in your photo.

Below is a photo depicting the backside of a 1675/16750 insert. Notice the small flat outer ring. Maybe your insert has one and it is hard to see in your photo - I can;t tell for sure.

Try this thread and report back with your conclusions.

it is also how I can check if one is fake or not, you need a 1/2mm flat outer ring.

After a fair amount of research on GMT Forum- I think you gentlemen are right and that inner outer flat ring doesn't exist. It's not very sturdy either. Planning to purchase one from Philip Ridley who serviced the watch recently. :)
