I threw my hat in the ring at one of the boutiques but haven't had it confirmed or denied yet. Have bought 2 watches from boutique and a deposit down on a grail third.
Will revert back when I hear! |

It’s still too thick, it’s still too large, and the case is still a little too bulbous, but by God is this where high-end sports watches need to go!

Super awesome guy who loves watches as much as any of us Happy he’s the one who won the bid! I tried it on and it’s very cool |

I was lucky enough to be allocated the chrono.
I will found out tomorrow how long it will be before they are available. I must admit, the Dual Time looks incredible. Very excited! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Still find it hilarious the watch is tied to a failed attempt up Everest. As they say “good thing you’re pretty”

Rolex has had similar stories in its past, didn't look like it hurt them too much in the long run right? Sometimes, it's more about the journey than reaching your destination.

They launched a watch to commemorate an expedition where the person of interest had to turn around? I believe you just curious what the circumstances were. I’m not hosing the climber. I understand the weather decides if you get a chance to summit on any given trip. I sure as shit can’t climb any tall peaks lol They should have engraved on the rotor “ it’s better to go home and have a beer than die on the mountain” After some thought you could argue the moonwatch was used in similar fashion on Apollo 13! I wouldn’t be shocked if omega has a tribute to Apollo 13.

Congrats, would you mind sharing how the allocation worked? Have heard speculation that they were offered and sold as early as Feb and from others that they were made available to collectors when announced earlier this week. In any case, congrats on the wonderful incoming!

I can tell you how it worked for me. I received a call a few days ago from the boutique. I was given some scant information about a new release and that if I was agreeable to signing a non disclosure agreement I would receive further information. I was offered a 1 of 150 piece, with some low res images and scant detail. Obviously I said yes. The purpose of the NDA was to keep the release under wraps until the launch date a few days later, but the next day it was leaked and the embargo was lifted. 24 hours later it was all over the internet. It was a very exciting day I must say. Deposit paid, no ETA yet, the whole episode was a bit surreal. Gotta say VC are something else, this experience just capped it off for me. I can’t wait to receive it, I have had many large incomings, but I don’t think I will ever top this one when the day finally comes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I got to meet Cory yesterday at Vacheron - what an engaging interesting guy. He was wearing the chrono. His photos are incredible.
