Make this Lange to Patek trade?

That’s my collection plus I have this A.Lange Saxonia 35mm full set box and paper

I want to trade a Lange for this Patek 5014G. I might need to add $1.5-2k to this.

What do you guys think? I like them both Lange and Patek, but feel like I can wear that Patek more often as it looks less formal to me. The three watches in the first picture aren’t going anywhere.

for goodness sake no way. That ALS is a beauty. Plus you already have a similar style watch. But if you could add a PP at some point I think that would be wise as well

The Lange is a beauty inside and out. What don't you like about it? I would think it would make more sense to swap out the Cartier Tank for the Patek since they're both rectangular. But it's your collection and your $ so you do you.

Would keep the Lange on a more casual strap.

Why not just buy the Cartier Tank XL instead? Far more of a great classic timepiece.

Good call.

I wouldn't want this particular Saxonia for one reason - I don't like double markers at 3, 6, or 9. Only at the 12 for me. Weird, but I can't help it. Just like I will never get a watch with a 4:30 date. If it was the 37mm Saxonia Thin I'd definitely keep it. Just to clarify, I am totally fine with the 35mm of yours (my 3998P Calatrava is 34mm), but I wouldn't want a 39mm or 40mm Saxonia Thin.

The Patek does very little for me and I'd much rather get a Cartier Tank.

No, do not. ALS >> Patek. No contest. Patek may still have the brand name, but finishing, service, and the overall package is better on Lange side. If you must get the Patek, sell the other watches.

I’ve owned so many Tanks in my life. Tank Louis, Tank Must …. XL is way too big. This size (33.7x25.5) is perfect for me.

Keep the ALS and change it up with some funky straps. It’s a gorgeous watch. You’re not getting anything aesthetically you don’t already have by getting rid of the Lange for the Patek.

So get a smaller Cartier Tank, there are many truly nice vintage pieces available too

If you do decide on the PP, ANY PP for that matter, you must make sure it has been recently serviced. Am sure you know some PP guys wear 'em until they know the watch needs service and then sell them to avoid such costs and long service wait times. Have a feeling you want to avoid old dried lube syndrome with safe queens too.

I know you said the first three aren't going anywhere but I'd drop the Must de Cartier, get the Patek, and keep the Lange. If you don't want to do that, I'd keep all and add the Patek. If you don't want to do that, I'd keep the Lange.
