Datejust - Stick or Roman Numeral?

Hey all!

I am new to the forums and watches in general! I have an order for my very first Datejust 41 white gold fluted bezel, jubilee bracelet and blue face with stick dial.

My question is what is more popular? The stick or roman numeral? I am just happy that I can finally get my firstRolex, but just curious what are everyones opinions on this :)

I am on the registry for the diamond one, the roman numeral one and a few others but this is the only one I was able to order with a deposit from an AD.

This would be a good poll. I had the choice of Wimbledon or stick when I purchased my dj41 rhodium dial and went with stick.

Before I got my Wimbledon DJ I would have said sticks, now I prefer the Romans though. More interesting.

I have finally decided jubilee bracelet with smooth bezel and Romans are my fav DJ configuration.

Stick is my preference. I have never cared for Roman numerals on any watch, regardless of brand. As someone mentioned, it’s just about what YOU prefer.

I was wondering this today on the day date models. Noticing that the sunburst chocolate dial is only available with Roman numerals. Wish there were more options.

Sticks, but that's only because I find the present Datejust Romans too big.

For me personally I like the simplicity of the "sticks", but we recently got this for my wife and it does add something a little different to the watch.

I prefer romans, especially on the 36mm. It’s more formal and to be honest lume isn’t strong enough on the smaller watches. If I wanna see the time in the dark I’ll use my phone.

Datejust - Stick or Roman Numeral?

Romans spread on the dial, so the watch will not be as easy to quickly read to the precise minute, if that’s important to you.

Easy question..Do u care for lume? then sticks...

If not, then roman numerals. Other minor difference is on the sticks, u have the mins numbered on the outer rim where was on the latter, its not. Small detail for sure.

I prefer the sticks as the sticks have
1) lume
2) more of a modern look.
3) min markers on the outer rim.

I prefer sticks on DJs. I really like romans on DDs, but they don't do much for my on DJs. Kind of weird when I think about it... but it is what it is.

I prefer sticks. I generally don’t like Rolex Roman numerals except for the “deconstructed” style on the Day Dates.

I prefer sticks. I was offered one with Romans, but am still waiting for one with sticks. But, the Roman, did look really nice.

Some websites have side-by-side views of Romans v. sticks. You may want to play around on Chrono 24.

As others have said, sticks have lume, whereas Romans do not.

You asked which is more popular. From reading TRF, I gather that sticks are more popular.

That being said, I’m a fan of Romans, and earlier this year I got a DJ 36, all SS with a silver dial, with Romans. I love it. As others here have noted, Romans are traditionally found on more traditional dressy watches, such as the Cartier Tank.

I tried on a RG DD with Romans a few years ago at Tourneau in Vegas, and it looked great.

It’s totally personal style, of course.

I love the clean simplicity of sticks.

My Datejust Turn-O-Graph.

I generally prefer sticks on the Datejust, because I don’t love the Roman font used. But I do love the deconstructed Romans on the Day-Date, which are interspersed with sticks.

I'm not a big fan of lume on DDs so I prefer RN or baguettes.
