2021 Explorer on NATO

I finally fitted out my new 2021 Explorer on a NATO strap! I work in construction management on an active construction site in NYC and the oyster bracelet is too flashy to wear at the site, in my opinion. This set up is also lighter and less prone to bumps and dings while onsite. I’ll put the bracelet back on for weekends, going out, etc.

I bought a few 19 mm NATO straps online as well as curved spring bars because it seems the clearance between the case and spring bar is even tighter on this watch than in past iterations of the Explorer. But it works great now! The spring bars feel very secure and the strap passes through easily. I used the Bergeon 7825 tool - expensive but worth it.

Happy with the result.

Looks good. I was planning to change straps on mine, but the bracelet is so great I cant do it. If I had a circumstance like you, a strap would be a great option though.

Is the lug width 19mm or 20mm?

19mm confirmed. For 2021 new Explorers... Past references have been 20mm.

Great pic OP! I want to do the same on mine when (if?) I can pick one up. I’ve been a fan of explorer 1’s on nylon straps.

I love the Explorer on straps. Check out Erika's Original straps. They have a bit of elasticity and are infinitely adjustable. When my Explorer is off the bracelet, it's on one of her straps.

I usually don't like NATO's but I like that one. Its a good option for your work environment.

Exactly the same from me. That’s a great combo.

Can't beat the bracelet though, but if you're wanting a break, this is a good route.

Rolex look best on their bracelets IMO, but the Explorer is the one Rolex that I think also looks good on a nato.

I literally opened this thread thinking “it’s going to look crappy, I will have to tell this guy to put it back on the oyster”

BUT that looks really awesome!!

Looks great! I think the Explorer would also look good with one of the black natos that has the gray stripes running down it.
