Strap / End Link Questions
My wife has a white 37.5mm Planet Ocean on a white leather strap. Omega wants $360 just for the 18/16mm strap. She rotates between several watches and I'm still replacing the leather strap every other year. I have searched high and low for a replacement strap that is curved to the case AND will accept the OEM clasp. I have found a few rubber with a tang buckle, but she doesn't care for for the setup.
I really wish they made the newer style leather/rubber backed straps in white for 18mm lugs. I honestly don't understand the point of a P.O. on a leather strap anyway. I like the Hirsch Paul Performance strap, but straight edge, tang buckle and can't use the OEM clasp. https://www.hirschstraps.com/product...05dd26e5&_ss=r Got me thinking...there are plenty of straight edge leather and rubber straps. Are there SS curved end links that accept a strap? Would that look silly having SS end links married to a strap? |

I get that you're exploring alternatives, but a new strap for $360 every other year? I'm guessing she's worth that and more
I know, this isn't helpful, but just sharing my two cents |

She's worth it. She has many more watches than I do :)
It really gets very light wear. It takes no time at all for white leather to look like trash. It's only two pieces embossed of leather. There is no difference from OEM and any other $25 piece of leather. If they made something "special" I wouldn't mind at all. Here's what I pieced together today for $15. We'll see if she can live with it when she gets home. |
