hey guys

my wifes Tudor prince date gave up the dust last night.

you shake it and it will only work for 3 seconds and stops.

so im contemplating getting a datejust for her as a replacement.
i had my heart set on a datejust with oyster, but like the jubilee bracelet too.

does anyone have pics of a jubilee datejust on a womans wrist?

do you think its worth the upgrade from her Tudor to a datejust, or should i just get it serviced?

essentially id love a datejust with white dial and oyster with solid middle links, but it will be too similar

I'm sure your wife would love the datejust on the jubilee! If I were in your shoes, I would buy one from one of the trusted sellers on this forum (like DavidSW) and take the money you saved from buying from an AD and put it toward servicing the Tudor.

While I have never owned a Tudor, I know many people here and have just as much respect for them as they do a Rolex and wouldn't consider them a "step down" necessarily. I think that is a fantastic looking watch and would consider having it serviced by one of the watchmakers on this board if you do not have one that you know and love.

That's a nice watch in good external condition! Store it after buying another for a service later. May be something fairly easy to repair.

Keep the Tudor, get her something newer. JJ's wife has a nice Rolex. He'll show some pics if you ask him.

and ive seen another for sale from lawrenceB, but it has no papers :(

id want to get her one with a solid middle link bracelet, so it will have to be a newer style datejust

i should of explained myself abit more.
the watch was fully wound in the morning (40 turns) and it stopped working at 3 in the afternoon.
a shake or winding of the crown only makes it work for 3 seconds

I would fix the Tudor, and wait on the DJ. Unless money is no object. That is a sharp looking Tudor!

I'd service the Tudor UNLESS she REALLY wants or has to have a new watch. Same thing happened to my Wife's Tudor just before XMAS. We went shopping the day after xmas and the final decision was to repair it. It was as simple as having it serviced and a new main spring replaced. Total cost was about $500.

her birthday is comming up in 2 weeks, and our wedding day is in 3 months! (yes i know i said wife in the title :) )

so i was thinking it was kind of a combined gift of birthday and wedding present

That was was a repair and service cost. That included parts not included in the service. As I indicated it had stopped working.
