Lol, oh God

The Bluesy isn't my favorite reference by any stretch, but it's way better looking than the CHNR with its pudding-colored half bezel

Like all fashion and tastes, TT’s will come back around to the desirability phase. We’ve had about a decade of zero TT love but, it’ll come back.

Aesthetics aside you have to admire the movement.
One of Rolex most reliable and robust movement favoured by many watchmakers

"When you are talking about ease of repair, how well it runs, beautiful trouble free movement, well engineered, you can’t beat the Rolex 3135. Everything about this movement says quality. " -

When I hold mine next to my hulk I wonder why the hulk is worth more! The blue and gold just look so beautiful. If you asked 100 random people which was the better watch of the 2, I think you would have a high percentage pointing at the LB.

That’s my point too. With the SS hype every other model looks appealing & affordable. The flippers & grays with their buying power will start hoarding rest of the models too now!

Otherwise, blusey is the most iconic of all Rolex models. Most commonly advertised in the print media.

Crazy times when people pay ferrari prices for a kia.

Dealers in Australia are now asking more for NIB SS Submariner Dates than the RRP of Two-Tone Submariners.
RRP (MSRP) for a Two-Tone Submariner is $17,850.00

I think TT is becoming more popular and I intend to vote with my wallet...I've put my name down and hopefully am looking at weeks not month/years as with the SS crap situation we all have to put up with.

I love the blue dial and I'm warming to the gold on the bracelet too :)

You mean a grey reseller, not an AD. These guys can price the watches howmuchever they want as long as there are people impatient enough to pay that much

Yes, sorry, should of made it clearer...... The Grey dealers are charging more for NIB SS Subs than AD's Retail price on two-tones.

Forget Australia. All those grays including the one you posted are absolute rip offs.

Yes, but... 10% GST applies on all incoming goods including postage.
Plus the exchange rate is poor vs the US dollar.
They are more competitive than you think when all is factored in.

Hahahaha - you have no idea how those grays work do you? Do you seriously think they are paying 10% gst on any of their goods?

Dont be naive.

No.. That’s not what I said.. And I’m far from naive so please don’t be so rude!

What I said is if I buy a watch from overseas I get slugged an extra 10% on all costs with a crappy 1:1.5 exchange rate.
AUSTRALIAN retail prices are the 3rd cheapest in the world when you factor in all these on costs.
I’ve bought over $70,000 worth of new Rolex’s in the last 18 months with a Sea Dweller 43 50th Anniversary to come.
Trust me, I know what I’m talking about.

Wow! $70,000 spent on watches in the last 18 months! You must have one hell of a collection. How come you have spent so much in such a short period of time, or have you been doing so for longer?

I built a great collection from 1992-2007 but sold the bulk of them to invest into collector cars. I sold 3 cars about 18 months ago and bought the following:

2016 GMT Master 18k Yellow Gold - Black Dial
1999 Omega Speedmaster Professional 30th Anniversary Edition
2018 Tag Heuer Monaco - Blue Dial
2018 Datejust 18/SS 31mm for my wife's 30th Wedding Anniversary present.
2019 18K/SS Submariner - Blue Dial.

I'm also on the waiting list for the 43mm Sea Dweller Red 50th Anniversary.

Cheers.

To prove the point I was making back in post 106....

David SW is is selling this watch in US$'s - https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=680052

$14,075.00 plus $150.00 postage and insurance:

$14,225.00 plus 10% incoming GST = $15,647.50 plus 1.5% fee from Courier for GST and duty collection = $15,882.21
At $0.667 exchange rate including bank fees the watch lands in my house for $23,811.41 Australian Dollars.

Hardly fair to say all our grey dealers are rip of merchants.

Cheaper in Australia than anywhere else.

Check here - https://sydneywatchexchange.com.au/p...26600-bp-2017/

Are the TT Subs becoming as popular as the SS models?

Will I expect this watch to lose much value if I decide to upgrade next year?
You should have asked the value retention question before you bought the watch ...

And everyone polled would be right. Because you can't pick a winner. They are both the epitome of how to get it right. As to the pricing, well, that's just people. You can't criticise the Hulk for being so achingly desirable. And in the not too distant future, I think the same will apply to the Blusey.

I would think that a lot of Hulk demand is not from the end user, whereas it is for the Bluesy as is demonstrated by secondary prices.

Valuation wise, my suspicion is the secondary market price of one will come down, or the other will go up. And I think the former is more likely.

The FOMO factor is exceptionally strong for the Hulk, and FOMO invariably runs its course, regardless of what the commodity is.

Anyway I love my Bluesy, absolutely no reason to get a Hulk for me.

Pay more for SS when one can get SS/gold for less? Mind boggles!

They pay more for SS because it is the watch they want. Gold and two tone are not for everyone.
