The next one - current state
On Thanksgiving I’m feeling grateful and content with the watches I’m lucky enough to wear every day. When I received the Nautilus I really thought the desire for “another” would subside...not so much!
It’s taken two years with the help of a great AD to acquire the watches in this photo and my interest is still strong. So far I just buy what I like and wear them all as much as possible. So far it’s Rolex, Patek and Ebel...Omega is likely next. Below are the “next” - open to others if there is any wisdom beyond “get what you like”. 1. Rolex references on my wish list: explorer II (white), PM Pepsi (blue face) and new sub (stuck between PM and new Kermit - so perhaps 3 or 4 on the Rolex front). 2. Omega: Speedy and Seamaster - both fit my wrist perfectly. 3. Patek - Calatrava (the one that counts the weeks), Calatrava (the one that looks most like the original and likely the only gold watch I will ever acquire), Pilots watch and a one of the world timers. I need a new watch box too! Happy Thanksgiving All!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by Geaux Tigers; 27 November 2020 at 02:29 PM.. Reason: Intended others - not orders |

Great collection! Would consider 124060, modern day classic.

Great collection. An AP RO Jumbo 15202 would complement your collection nicely.

I’m gonna throw a Grand Seiko or something Oysterflex in the ring.

Grand Seiko - I’ve actually never had the opportunity to touch one but understand they are really nice. Will find my way to an AD soon. Oysterflex - also have never touched one also very interesting. Will explore options. I’ve enjoyed the Aquanaut on rubber for sure...like it better on rubber than the bracelet. There is a soft touch strap for the Tudor that I haven’t been able to get my hands on yet, but will eventually. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Wow, just wow! I would be both grateful and content, as well, with this beautiful collection of ‘grails.’ You are beyond blessed when it comes to hard to attain timepieces. Enjoy them in the best of health and happiness, my friend.

1. None of the Rolex listed. You already have subs, a GMT, and a Daytona.
Maybe a Rolex OP41 or 214270 Explorer 1, or I’d say a DJ41, but you have enough time/date watches too. 2. No Omegas, I’m no hater on Omega but your 116500 beats any Speedy, and as for a seamaster you already have cooler time and date watches unless you’re considering the Aqua Terra annual calendar. Which leads me to say: 3. The 5212 Calatrava with weekly complication would fill a lack of complications in you’re collection and is a stunning watch. The 5196 or 5227 calatravas would also go great with your existing Patek collection. Just my opinion based on a similar collection. You’ve got a fine collection so far man, congratulations! |

All of the Patek’s you mentioned are great. Need to narrow the 5196 / 5227 choice and I’m on the list for the weekly complication. You’re perspective is helpful in prioritizing. My wife is eyeballing the Daytona so might loose that one for a bit and have also considered the black face Daytona or speedy as an option while the white is MIA. Thank you for the input! Looking at your collection I would skip the Omegas and stick with the Pateks. You mentioned 5196 which is a 37mm watch. Would be too small for some but if that fits I would get that in yellow gold. The 5227 was mentioned which date function and it is 39mm. Since the collection is heavy with the tool watches I am wondering if you really want a gold dress watch? Maybe consider the Patek chronograph 5172 White gold, or the Patek Pilot 5524 in white gold a dual time zone watch.

Good change we go down in flames on that one for sure! BUT I’ll take the game - love watching the Tigers...win, loose or draw. We will be back. Can’t argue against the greatness y’all bring to the gridiron. Saban is the goat - no doubt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
