Incoming: SKX's Bezel Inserts

Brand new factory sealed in the packet from Seiko:
2 x SKX007 and 3 x SKX009 Aluminium bezel inserts.
Total cost about $60 including international shipping.

Try to by 1 Rolex aluminium insert for $60 let alone 5...........

Anyway, I've got some patina work to do on these.

Where’d you order the inserts m8?

Might be worth noting that Seiko don’t sell inserts separately (only on the bezel) and the packets you have there are AM even though they say genuine. Not that it matters too much if you’re going to be bleaching them.

This is a surprise, but I guess I should have known better.

So do you think it is just the packaging that is aftermarket or would that apply to the bezel inserts too?

I bought it of eBay but it shipped from the Phillipines.

As mentioned above, they’re all fake (packaging, inserts). Sorry to be the bearer of the news. Seiko inserts come only as one with the bezel and would be circa $70 each for an skx.

But the only saving grace is you wouldn’t be bleaching stuff at the cost of OE maybe so they have their place in the modding world. I just don’t like the fact they sell them in ‘genuine packaging’ (which is nothing like Seiko use anyway)

There’s some sellers now selling Feiko parts in replica packaging now! Have to be careful if you’re wanting the real deal.

This has been going on for over 10 years on ebay. Unfortunately the only way to tell is what country the seller is from it seems. If it says India or Philippines I know what I am getting. There are also a few sellers in the UK selling replica parts.

I was referring to a new type of fake packaging, one that’s made almost identical to the genuine paper Seiko packets parts. There’s someone selling Pogue crystals and various bezels all in the paper Seiko packets, all fake.

The packets like this are pretty obvious but there’s one guy selling stuff and at first glance you’d think it was NOS. Way more expensive than the normal fake parts too. He’s even selling parts house mineral replicas of the 330w18gn00 in paper ‘Seiko packets’.

This type hasn’t been around anywhere near that long. The crappy ones, yes but replica packets I’ve only started seeing relatively recent.
