marijuana legalized in Canada the Day is here

In 2016 I posted the regarding legalization of marijuana in Canada I got an awesome response and your thoughts were super much appreciated. Now that the day is finally here legalization kicks in at 12:01 midnight in Canada.

Now that it's been a little while and the day has arrived for legalization I'd love you all to share your thoughts regarding the whole cannabis debate

Good for you, Canada! We will do the same, eventually. As Churchill said, America can always be counted to do the right thing..............after all other avenues have been exhausted.

I'm not very happy about it. Don't think it was thought out well enough.

That's fair and personally I never did either. Had my phase in my 20s, but that's long behind me. No moral high ground or anything. It's just not for me anymore.

I think it's more about coming around on something that has been demonized and portrayed as something it isn't.

I've been on the receiving end of many friends intoxicated on legal substances, but not once ever had a bad experience with someone who was high on marijuana.

Regrettably there is a big difference between the weed that was around a couple of decades ago and the skunk that’s on the streets today.

I am thoroughly embarrassed that this is our prime ministers biggest priority. Canada needs pipelines not pot. Our oil is selling at $25/bbl because we can't get it to market. This costs Canada hundreds upon hundreds of millions of dollars of lost revenue and royalties but our dipshit in Ottawa thinks that legalizing pot is more important. Brutal!!

I far prefer weed smoke over cigarette smoke.

Pisses me off to no end to have to walk through someone’s cigarette smoke.

Let's keep politics out of the discussion like the rules state.

I live in Colorado. I voted to legalize it. I really hate that everywhere i drive it smells like skunks.

I do believe even though it is legal it should be treated like tobacco products. It sucks that everywhere you go it smells like it. Did i mention our homeless problem increased 300% when they legalized it?

Ditto that.

IMO, the rules around where to smoke should be similar to that of alcohol, not cigarettes.

I guess there will be a lot of trial and error.

Actually, it was supposed to become legal last week, but Canada slept past noon, didn't get up from the couch till three, then couldn't borrow Uber fare to get downtown.

Hopefully, things go better tomorrow.
