Rolex or Breitling?
Heading to the Bahamas and Dominican Republic. Wanting to ask Rolex people, what would be a first Rolex for about 9-11k that you would recommend? I like different looking watches. Have a Brietling Chronograph with a blue dial and gold timers. Also, where would I get the best deal, here in Chicago or the islands?
Thank you in advance, First post, |

Welcome to TRF!
I would have to think most would answer Sub Date in one it's incarnations, or a GMT IIc. Can't answer best deal question, but again, welcome! Others will chime in......

I would sit tight and look at the Trusted Sellers here on TRF. I would buy a slightly pre-owned Rolex Submariner-C. Either the Date or no date model and if you really want a stunner go with the 116610 LV, the Hulk. Steller reputations from the TS and the watches will be there by 1030 the next day after the funds clear.

Welcome to the forum
You may have difficulty even finding a professional model for sale at an AD. I’ve seen Explorer 2 white dials ... they are a sharp looking watch and if you like a little color ... |

Welcome, in Nassau, you’ll get duty free at Breitling boutique (15% off), no tax, but will pay minimum 3% duty, after $800 per person exemption when declaring up to a set amount, then 4% after that.
DR? Where? If Punta Cana, no sports models as of a few weeks ago. You’ll pay duty free on common references.....(10-15% off).

I'd browse through the Rolex website and see what you like and go from there. Hopefully you don't pick a difficult to find model

Welcome to TRF!
A Sub is a wonderful watch! Send a personal message (PM) to (Briboxer) Brian, let him know what you are looking for and he will give you an excellent price.

Welcome to TRF!
As many others recommended, the Submariner is a great choice for your first Rolex. But so is the Explorer, or the GMT, or countless other models! But you’ll know once you see it, for what is the “right” first Rolex for you. |

I wore my Breitling today.
Agree with my friends here. Love my GMT. Sub is also a great choice. Welcome to TRF! |
