Authentication / Registration - RSC Toronto
If anyone in Canada is interested in the process, it was a smooth experience.
I purchased a pre-owned 116520 last month. I just wanted to make sure it's all authentic and not stolen/lost. I know, I know ... should of done this before purchasing. Either send watch to RSC Toronto yourself or drop watch off at AD. Ship from Van to Toronto via FEDEX with $100 insurance (Only do this if your watch is already insured) 4 days delivery ...... $ 45 each way 2 days delivery ...... $ 75 each way overnight delivery .. $ 85 each way Ship from Van to Toronto via BRINKS with $20,000 insurance Standard delivery (think it's 4 days) $260 each way. FEDEX option not possible, watch is not insured yet. BRINKS seems like a pain in the butt and crazy expensive ... $520 shipping ? I drop off at local AD and they charge $44 shipping each way. And Authentication / Registration was $200 Whole process from drop off to pick up was only 2 weeks. I was expecting 4-5 weeks. The local AD sales people were super friendly and a pleasure to deal with. Below are instructions on how to ship watches to RSC Toronto. |

Good to know. So what do you get for the authenticity process? Any document or card etc.? Travel case?
I am just curious to know what you get for the $200. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

For me ... I just wanted to know if watch is authentic and has not be reported stolen of lost. And I needed paperwork so I can get insurance.
1. Watch is authentic 2. Watch has not been reported stolen / lost (RSC would of kept it if it was stolen / lost) 3. I believe now, my name is associated with the serial # 4. Authentication document can be use to buy insurance (similar to appraisal form) 5. Watch came back with plastic travel case Please let me know where I can buy insurance. Especially in Vancouver. Thanks. |

You can add the watch to your home insurance. Talk to your broker. He or she might be able to advise you on the options.

How do you know if it’s stolen or not? I am having this issue now. I’ve purchased a Sea Dweller online quite some time ago and recently had it appraised, and when I met the guy he offered to meet on the following Friday to purchase for 5800 and I never heard from him again. And he owns a legit watch business. He took pics of the serial number when I met him and I’m wondering if he saw somewhere that it was stolen. Only thing I can think of as to why he ghosted like that. How do professional businesses know if a Rolex is stolen before they purchase it?

Dennis, Not being an alarmist here but how do you know it's a legit watch business?
