5296-010 genuine

Hi everyone.

I'd like to add a Calatrava to my collection and got really excited when I saw this pre-owned 5296 advertised for sale. This could be my very first Patek!

Does it look genuine to you?

Also, in picture #3 (from the profile with crown), the little bright spots look like dings to me, or are these lighting reflections? Can't go and see it IRL unfortunately.

Thanks for reading.

IS it a full set? I'd never buy a patek without the paperwork (certain vintage aside)

I'd ask for a slow moving video to view the case better to see if those are dings or not. Hard to tell but looks like light

Yes, full set. Good idea I'll ask for a video. Thanks

Looks fine. Did seller say if has been been polished, looks like case might have been, maybe wrong. I’d ask for better photos / video as mentioned.

Never been polished but could be at my request (which I wouldn't do). The seller won't give more photos, no video either. Any red flag you can think about?

From the seller:

Hello, thank you for your patience.
The watch is in perfect technical condition, please find detailed pictures attached.
It is supplied with original box and warranty certificate, purchased in 2011.
The watch has not been polished yet, high quality polishing could be done on your request before shipping. The strap is worn, we can also replace the strap with a brand new original Patek Philippe one. Please note that delivery of a new strap takes up to 10 business days.
Our warranty is valid for 1 year and covers all mechanical parts of the watch.

Please find detailed picture attached. The case side and top right lug without any dings.
Please feel free to ask us any further questions, we are glad to help you.

If a seller wouldn't give additional photos, that would be a big red flag to me. Why wouldn't one do that if one actually owned the watch?

True, that's a bit strange.

Seller is "Time Ten Watch Company LTD". The watch is advertised as full set box and papers but they won't provide a picture of certificate of authenticity from Patek which is even stranger. Price is almost 2 grand under market value. They seem to have good feedback on C24.

I have doubts so maybe I should pass on this one.

Id pass on they premise they wont send additional pics. I can understand the apprehension of not sending pic of the cert, however they could always black out the serial number and the previous owner's name...so I guess that's two red flags

Buy the seller...and in this case I'd pass

Naw, I don’t blame seller- they have given you all the info & pics you need. They get flakes using all their time and effort who will never buy.The solution is to buy the piece using AMX and if the piece has dings etc - send it back and dispute the charge - don’t miss out on what probably is a good buy- I would tell the seller you want the extra strap sent when he gets it. Just what I would do. :-))

Ps:since it’s C24 use trusted seller escrow & AMX - do not use wire!

Thing is I struggle a little bit with the impossibility to provide another picture showing the right profile and top right lug, can't show a video either, won't show the papers if they do exist. Could be a bargain at EUR16.8k / USD18.5k / GBP15k but not being able to show more pictures especially the certificate gives me a bad vibe.

Thanks all for chiming in. I'm going to pass.

Link to the sale can be found here.

I'd agree. There's always another. And lack of effort by the seller is a turn-off. I would pass too

Seller texted me saying "they made a mistake, the watch comes with no papers, just box". They've updated the listing accordingly, not the price mind you.

Hi all. I came across this Calatrava 5296. Wondering if someone could comment on this movement, does it look correct for a 324 SC?
