Purchased at MSRP from AD.

I think there are enough people purchasing at or below MSRP to say that if you’re patient, you really shouldn’t have to pay more than MSRP.

I’m relatively new to the Rolex game but I’ve paid only retail on both my DJ41 and CHNR. Love them both!

Ha!! I was thinking the same thing... or have to purchase at a Duty Free shop.

I’ve purchased at MSRP, below MSRP, and above MSRP.

I’ve even purchased Rolex many years ago, below MSRP, and then sold for 2-3x what I paid, and funded above MSRP.

I don’t get how folks can have a Rolex or watch hobby, but then be so obsessed with an arbitrary price point as a demarcation line for purchases.

Exactly!

“Anyone paying MSRP in a state with sales tax is paying over MSRP”

MSRP means Manufacturer’s suggested retail price, not out the door price!

Only once with the BLNR when the AD was still allowed to sell above MSRP a few years ago.

Every other watches I bought are at MSRP otherwise.

Why anyone would pay over MSRP is beyond me. Talk about flushing money. Geez, it’s a watch. But that’s just me,

<raises hand>

I’ve been lucky enough to purchase 4 Rolexes:
1) 116710 from AD in 2008. When it was the only ceramic. Got ~$1,000 discount. Since sold.
2) 16610lv purchased privately in 2008. Below msrp. Since sold.
3) 116718 purchased from grey. Below msrp.
4) 116500 from AD in 2018. At msrp, AD declined a discount when I asked

Dare I say my average would be well below MSRP across all purchases? I dare

I want whatever you are smoking.
Do you really think the MSRP discussion means including taxes?
Wow.

I have purchased below, at, and above MSRP. It's just a number.

I pay market price for something in accordance to the time I want it. It's not about being patient or impatient. I'll gladly wait for something if I believe my time is better suited waiting or going a head buying it right away if I want it enough.

Fair market value, everyone. That's the true value of any goods. Sometimes it's higher, sometimes lower. Just do you due diligence and search for the best price and example. Don't see what the fuss is regarding MSRP as it's always only a suggested price. Would love to see Rolex remove MSRP or have them set to $1. Would like to see if those who say they will never pay over MSRP pay above $1 for a Rolex if it was set at that.

I've never bought from an AD. I've always purchased from a trusted seller here on the forum mostly Tony Geha-Justrolexes. I've purchased 6 watches from Tony and all have been great deals.

For new, current references I’ve only bought from AD and with a discount.

But the vast majority of my purchases have been discontinued and 20+ years old! Safe to say when I bought a 1655 a couple of years ago I paid a lot more than it’s MSRP from 1982! And I’d do it again!
