Seiko Prospex Automatic Diver 200m SPB149
Somehow I missed this yesterday. A great size and also affordable compared to the trilogy divers.

If the lug width on this is 20 this is the perfect Seiko diver for smaller wrists I've been long awaiting.

Real life pic courtesy of @wristos on instagram. Thick bezel distinguishes enough from sla017 for me to be a different watch.....unlike the williard. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yes! Like it!
It's a more reasonable choice than the new SLA037 (for me, having the SLA017) - nive combo of colors, different bezel as noted above and a much more enticing price tag

Checks all the right boxes and price point seems reasonable. Love the other limited releases but the cost? Ouch!
I think this will be a hot tamale.

Not up on the current lingo. Is being a hot tamale good or bad?

It's good thing, meaning, I think it'll be very popular. A real hot tamale! It also means a good looking woman.

Cool watch... just not sure what the strategy is with these after releasing the previous 62mas “reedition”

I wish it did not have a ceramic bezel insert.

And not the most seamless bracelet-to-case connection either. I think Seiko needed a better end-link fit. Otherwise, beautiful piece. Perhaps best on rubber.

I can’t wait to see this one in the metal! I love smaller Seikos and think this could be a nice replacement for the SLA017 that I (foolishly) sold.

I like it. If I were to buy one, I’ll be selling my Turtle SRP773. I love the dimensions.

Put a down payment with an AD on a SPB145 today for delivery in July So I'm counted in.
I liked the bronzish dial. Separates from the traditional black SPB143 and not a fan of the SPB149 limited edition blue color. Looking forward to it. Hopefully Crafter Blue will make a rubber strap or an equally high quality vulcanized rubber strap maker. Be nice to swap with the bracelet. Image from A Blog to Watch.

I’ve become obsessed with these. Thinking seriously about picking up an SPB143. Wondering if it’ll be hard to get my hands on one.

The SPB145 changes it up a bit with what I think is a cool, different, muted color dial that contrasts nicely with the bezel. Plus it has the lume reminiscent of the buttery vintage Daini factory application. I thought of the SPB143 for about 27 seconds and passed simply for the reason that I own my grandfather's 5513. I couldn't justify another black dial and bezel diver when I have that piece which broke the mold for me as much as I own and love (in varying colors) Seiko divers.

Yes! I’m wrestling with that because of my 1680...but I feel like I would wear this more. It has the same 60s diver spirit but I won’t worry about it much. You’ve got me thinking now though... |

Hey man, we only go around once, so if you have the cheddar and feel the itch, count your blessings and treat yourself. For me, I just needed something a little different to justify the expense, rather than have a vintage inspired diver that fits in the family of an actual vintage diver I own.

Sounds like they’re starting to be delivered. Just saw James Stacey’s 143 on the HODINKEE instagram. Looks amazing.
