Anyone not like the ears on the Nautilus?
Ok...I recognize this is a dangerous topic in the Patek forums, but I'm curious if anyone here is NOT a fan of the ears on the Nautilus? I do like the Nautilus line overall, but I will admit I waiver back and forth on the aesthetics of the ears. Anyone else feel this way?

So choose the Aquanaut. Problem solved, right?

I prefer the Aquanaut for this reason, each to their own. Always reminds me of the Telly Tubbies.

In fact if you waiver on at item like this what’s the point? If you don’t like its distinguishing, uncommon features you have many other options to choose from, most of them earless, not oval bezel, etc |

The ears are not what sucked me on, for me it was definitely the hype, take away all the hype I could care less about the nautilus, everyone Else wants it? Now I want it!

I dislike the ears on the 5980 as too big and thick for my liking. 5990 is an interesting one as it doesn’t have the traditional ears - the left ear are really buttons - I don’t mind that at all and think it’s quite a clever design. |

I like them, gives the watch a unique and appealing shape, I prefer it to the RO and the Aqua, thus I like more the 64 which has kind of surrogate ears on each side.

I agree, I’m the same way I like the 64 and the same way with the naiti I’m a buggier fan of the slimmer 12 case

The whole design simply does not work for me. Lacks symmetry IMHO

Not my cup of tea either. Looks weird to me with that massive useless bezel.

Take a look at the 3712, it has more discreetly shaped ears it’s on the left versus the 5712. Also see real life pic of mine

Yes, very prominent elephant ears.
Wasn't the Nautilus originally made as a woman's watch? |

The "ears" are supposed to mirror the hinges of a porthole, as designed by the great Genta. Love that whole aquatic theme surrounding this model line. A stroke of genius.
