In light of yesterday blistering heat in the DC area, don't you think it's time these let these poor guys wear shorts.

Yeah or Nay.....

Are you kidding? Those white legs will blind us and distract the other golfers. No shorts till the legs match the arms.

I'd vote for shorts, I can't imagine playing this time of year with pants. It would not take too long for the white legs to match the arms

Not sure the networks are ready for Tim Herron or Kevin Stadler walking around in shorts.

The women are allowed to wear them, why not the men?

Nah, let'em suffer, they already have private jets, model girlfriends/wives, 4 day work weeks, wine and watch collections and exorbanent incomes, so they can deal with a little sweat!

if they allow the PGA to wear less clothes, I feel it's only fair to allow the LPGA to do the same :)

I'd go for shorts also. I generally wear shorts when golfing.

ah, you wouldn't believe how tan these guys legs are, I've watched dozens of tour pro's play and practice at my buddies club and they are always in shorts unless they are playing a tour event.

I find it funny that the PGA tour uses the "tradition" argument and then lets players use pink cartoon like drivers...

It's pro golf. With a caddy. For a lot of money. Come on, tradition and ettiquette has a place in golf. It's not like anyone is clamoring for baseball players to wear shorts.

I agree, Pro Golf players ought to be allowed to wear shorts during competition.

Good point, but a green jacket would look great with tan shorts

These guys are pros. If they can't play in pants, they shouldn't be on the tour.

Nothing cheap looking about a good pair of golf shorts - nor about their price! I say YES!

Nay, they're professionals and should look like it, shorts are too casual.

I vote for plus fours in lui of long dacks.

I am sure they are all super light sweat absorbing materials, made of some unobtainable NASA based technology to go with their clubs and balls.

If it means they're more comfortable (especially in the heat) and can shoot better scores, why not?. After all, that's what the crowd want to see. For sure the Pros would wear the really nice golf shorts available now so it's not like they'd look like a pack of hobos or anything...

Maybe I'm wrong but didn't men have to wear long pants once upon a time in Tennis?.

I'm a traditionalist and have played golf all my life.

I just don't think it would be the same thinking of Hogan or faldo holding aloft major championship trophys wearing shorts.

Trousers for me I'm afraid.

No shorts. But I'm glad they started letting the caddys wear shorts a few years ago.
