Icon7 Auction result on Rolex Comex Sea-Dweller Ref. 16660 Triple 6

In the rarified world of Rolex Comex watches, here's one that recently sold on 22 July at Tajan auction for Euro 132600 (£119,356.48 at current Google conversion).

Off topic, what are the production numbers like for Rolex Comex and Rolex Milsubs? Which one had a larger commission of pieces?

Thanks for posting also the link. Did YOU buy it? I'm not at all a Comex specialist, more 1665 DRSD, but the watch looks very good, I can't judge on the dial authenticity. The case photos maybe even look too good for a professional diver. The provenance photos are interesting and nice as well. How does one know that this is indeed Jean-Bertrand Bory's watch?

No official numbers, but around 2,000 Comex issued Rolexes, and fewer than 1,200 Rolex milSubs...

You're welcome. No I didn't buy it, I'm downsizing to a two watch ownership. The background from reading the articles is that it was put aside by his window for 30 years after his death, and he died young.
