Panerai 911 value prospect

Hi.

Looking to buy my first Panerai soon.

I'm currently stuck between one of many submersible models and the Panerai 911.

How is the value prospect on this model? Wouldn't want to lose any money if I get tired of it.

I’m sure you could sell at retail if not higher. If you can find one BNIB I would jump on it ASAP!

From the few that I've seen hit the secondary market, the 911 seems to be holding above retail since its release.

Above retail. I bought a 735 and paid more used than it was new. Panerai only made 250 pieces of the 735 but it’s got the green dial like the 911. I’d bet it will, at the very least, hold its value. My 2 cents...good luck.

Depends if u buy it new @msrp ($6600) or used @current market price ($9-10k?)

Not sure if u can find a new one at boutique tho

Personally, I think 911 has a lot going for it (olive green dial and AB’s last tribute) and will hold current market value

This thread needs pics. So here’s mine. Lol

I love how the olive changes color from gray to green

I have a feeling that you will lose money on it...

The secondary market asking price is different from the trade in price or the sale price!

Panerai 911 value prospect

I got mine at MSRP $6600 from AD

Trading secondary is around $9k to $11k

I can't see it trading below MSRP.... anything is possible of course but I bought it because I liked it (my one and only Panerai) so it doesnt matter too much regardless of where it trades

I love the watch

initally bought to flip it for a 690 or another blue edition...
i got offers around 9-10.000 Euros but i just couldn't do it. it's just such an amazing watch.

i am pretty sure it is going to hold its value, if not increase. even beats my beloved d-blue in "wearing" time :)

It's hard to see how the value will go in long term, not just on 911....for now 911 might sell above msrp but who knows what will happen several years down the line...look at 127 or 360 for example, the secondary price have softened up in comparison to few years ago even though they're still above original msrp

Generally I don't treat watch as investments,if the value increases I treat it as a bonus

If you like it and can get hold of one, then buy it, love it, wear it. Don't buy any watch as an investment.

For 911, its likely that you are not going to lose money down the road. But get what you like and what you would wear.

There are just too many cases when people get what other people like, ends up just not wearing the watch.
