Most people think those champagne dial DJs look like the Seiko copy of them.

In my mind the Datejust is "the" daily wearer... whatever style you chose I don't see an issue. Ya the white gold is shiny but the fluted bezel is such a classic look.

You guys are making me want a DJ even more. I’ve always been more of a sport watch guy...the 114270 is the closest to my daily, but my polar 16570 gets a lot of wear.

I’ve always admired the fluted bezel DJ (IMO, fluted bezel is the ONLY DJ!) on the jubilee. Has to be the classic 36mm size.

How do you all feel about Explorer vs. DJ? Can they coexist?

I wear my explorer as a daily...and its about as close to perfect as it gets. But the date function would be nice. Just go with a dial color other than black and it's an awesome due. Im partial to the blue

For me it sort of depends on if you are talking vintage or not. I don't know how others feel, but the vintage DateJusts seem much easier to dress down than the more modern versions. So I guess I would say yes for a daily if vintage, but the newer style feels more dressy/office appropriate.

Of course, it ultimately depends on you and your style. The way I see it: if you wear something with confidence and own it, you can do what you like when it comes to style

I wear mine everyday. I work in a casual environment, but that watch would also work with any other attire. I also wear it for all activities, like swimming, biking, etc. It is indeed my daily beater.
Personally, I don't follow the "rules" of what kind of watch to wear for which occasion; I wear what I like and what makes me happy. Granted, that model makes it easy, as well.

I will wear mine very often for a a month or so, at the moment not so much as I have had two many incomings so need to wear them or the wife will look at them sat in the box:-) Have had no problem except summer with the concealed jubilee, had to add a 1/2 linker comfort my other two are on oyster so have the extension in clasp. I have two TT ones so naturally they stand out but no more than any other TT watch I own.

I wear my fluted/jubilee SS DJ M-F for business, but feel it to be a bit dressy where I live (NM) for everything else. Am in the market for a 114270 Explorer for weekends, leisure, vacation, etc.

Every day. Swap every week between a TT DJ and a SS DJ, both presents from my wife. I do have to say that i like the SS better. The TT looks a little too flashy.

Find a DJ36 with an Engine Turned bezel and you have the best of both Worlds.

My DJ 36 fluted is also my daily. Most of the time it is under my cuff so no one catches much attention of it.

I currently have the 116200 smooth bezel oyster bracelet blue stick dial. It is my go to watch. I wear it with a suit and tie or with jeans. I want another DJ36 with a white dial, and have been looking at a few variants. These are my observations on daily wear:
-The 16200 is the most casual. But it could easily be worn with a suit.
-The pcl's and polished lugs of the 116200 make it more dressy, but it can still be dressed down. Either the 16200 or 116200 could easily be a daily watch.
-The fluted bezel on the 16234 is noticeably more subtle than that of the 116234. The later reference is much more "blingy" than the older. I have seen plenty of people wearing the 16234 in casual settings, and it looks fine. But the 116234 imho looks too blingy to pull off in, say, cargo pants and hiking boots.

I know there are other references, but these are the ones I am most familiar with. My next DJ will be a dressier watch, but I will want it for casual occasions too. So I will probably go with a 16200 if I can find a good one, or another 116200, or possibly look at the 126200 when it is released in the next year or two. It will take me that long to put aside the needed funds anyway.

What an enabling thread! One minute I love the Wimbledon, then the next a simple stick dial. I think a silver roman in 41mm would be a wallet dumper for me!

Rolex designed it as a daily wear watch.

Even when you get the crystal all schmuzzy with whatever - it’s clearly the watch for daily wear.
